So, replicas or not?
I think not...I mean they're being built to exactly the same standards, using genuine chassis numbers.
Same standards, or higher?
I guess a lot higher actually?

Watching them gently lowering the bonnet had me imagining Philip Glenister slamming it down.

It's not a replica, but it can't claim to have the racing heritage. It is simply a manufacturing masterpiece and should be considered and valued as such.

Thoroughly enjoyed that on so many levels. Funny thing is that it's made me want to chop in the BMW and buy a TVR. Mad, British and all that smile

Can't say it's done anything for me. I'm in the expensive replica camp and the trinkets of fancy suitcase and watch etc just smacked of pandering. I'm not sure how making those cars represents and reinforces the jaguar values of today.

I'm genuinely interested in what the die hard jaguar fan base thinks

Beautiful and fantastic attention to detail but it's a reproduction or copy

Bit disappointed with the program to be honest. Having a presenter (on screen) added little and if it had been linked by voice-over we might have seen a few minutes of the mechanicals.

Lightweight...

Just how much filler under the paint?

And how much paint?

Much as i love the idea, they are just replicas for people with too much money and not enough taste to buy an original.

Well Aston Martin DP214 5BVY is shown in the programme at Goodwood prior to Lord March calling the Jaguar a replica. 5BVY is also a recreation.

Well no design work / testing as its already been done an old car so no air bags / electrics etc.

Basically a hand crafted shell some leather and an engine . . a lot less than a million per car I recon

Next question.

How could they ever be road registered?

I bet Jag were well pleased to see Mark Evans smearing his greasy mitt over their freshly polished £40k paint job.
Interesting program, but the pretentiousness of blingy matching wristwatches and poncey desinger luggage is a bit irksome.
