LOL - the “go to” Indian representative on TV biglaugh

There used to be that Chinese guy with the long hair who was always a bad guy and killed off early in films. Never knew his name but he was in every film requiring a sacrificial Chinese martial artist bad guy. Surprising how many films had that as a requirement.

I found last week's episode fairly dull and yet the Japanese scenes this episode, and the episode in general, were very good.

This season seems very up and down in terms of pacing and the quality of the writing.

I think they just wanted to put in a Japan-centric episode because it's 'cool' for sci-fi nerds to like Japanese culture, or at least to profess to like it on internet forums. Hey, look everyone - Samurai World, wooooo!

It looks like they spent a lot of money on it but it didn't really deliver much dramatically. This weeks was much better because it moved the story on and the (limited) Japanese scenes really had impact.

Have we had the swords debate in here yet? biggrin

(i.e. how its possible for guests to sword fight with hosts without being injured or killed, unlike "trick" bullets from guns)

Been avoiding the thread as been on holiday. Just caught up. Ep5 was a good standalone and I liked the showdown with paint it black remixed again with a Japanese theme. It didn't do much to the story though.

Ep6 is right up there with Ep4 of S2. It's connected done of the timelines (the train explosion). It's further added to living on in a hosts body l. The start and end of that episode with Delores suddenly testing Bernard/Arnold and then Hopkins appearing at the end. I tented.

I can't remember the last time I watched a TV episode and really couldn't wait for the next one.

Also did anyone see Thandie Newton on the Graham Norton show? She hasn't aged at all. 46 and she looks mid 30s.

I think you are right about last weeks episode. Also events happened due to "reasons" and few characters seemed to have any motivation for what they were doing.

This week was much better.

I thought when Dolores was testing Bernard in the opening scene, her mannerisms and speech patterns were much more like Ford's than her own.

Also the brief mention of 'fidelity' certainly points towards the two Bernards theory.

So Ford is living on as computer code on a set of servers? Seems a tenuous existence at best. Ultimately Delos will surely break in and shut it down.

And all that story line for Dolores and she ends up crashing in a tunnel? Surely there must be more to it than that...

The coach with Delores and the rest in was disconnected, the rest of the train went on to crash.

Ah ok, I saw it as the other way round - they'd left the Delos employee behind and chuffed off into the tunnel.

A few things I noticed in this weeks episode:

Why do Teddy and the man in Black refer to sunrise as Sun Up?

I think Delores might be a little scared/intimidated by Teddy.

When the Delos team were in the control room and regained control of the map, they said everything was functioning as normal. We also know that most hosts have either had their memories wiped or are ‘empty’. Then Bernard goes into the servers and sees everything functioning as normal except for Arnold.

Could it be that the system that the security team are monitoring is different from the one the hosts are on in real life?

I also noticed that in the flashback scenes the aspect ratio and amount of grain/noise on the film is different from 'current' scenes. Also the lighting used/colours of scenes depicts good/bad. So the cooler (bluer) the frame things are okay but the warmer (redder) things get, things will get worse.

They didn't say everything was functional, pretty sure the new head guy made a snarky comment about the "killbots" still being out of control
