It was a bit complex I thought. Season 1 was always going to be hard to follow but I don't really see the point in a third season.

Bit behind you guys as I only watched S02 recently.

Jesus what a fking mess. Just a terrible series. Wont be entertaining S03 if it ever arrives

No empathy for any of the characters
Just became an excercise in death special effects
Worst assault team in history
No plot. Just a load of psuedo nonsense vaguely tied together!
I'm all for jumping timelines in a plot. But when you cant easily tell them apart it becomes moot.

As said above numerous times.

They think they are cleverer than they are!

Pretty much summed up most of the discussion on S2 right there! Can't remember ever being quite so disappointed in a "sequel". S1 was stunning. S2...dear God. The creators totally disappeared up their own arses trying to out think the internet nerds trying to guess the plot.

Yup S02 disappeared up its own arse really. Too clever-clever for its own good.

I actually resented Hopkins being a part of it which is not something I would've imagined at the start.

Don't know whether the showrunners got preoccupied with trying to fool the hardcore crowd on Reddit and elsewhere who love to joylessly predict every "twist", but whatever happened it was a hot mess with pretty much no redeeming quality to it.

It ultimately felt like they started filming without actually knowing where they were going with it, which it sortof felt like a bit with the whole "The Maze is not for you" denouement.

True Detective?

Westworld was a mega hit, that may have bene part of the problem. Now Nolan and wife say that they have the whole thing planned out, but I think that is from s2 onwards, when they realised they had a cashcow.

I've posted links in this thread, but if you watch PJ dissection of the sries, one can see how certain plots were changed/forgotten/ignored. It's difficult to recall because of the nature of the way the story is told, but there's clear confusion.

Glad I'm not the only one. Got two episodes on the Sky box still to watch... they've been there for a while.

What a mess S2 was.

Yup, that was a decent one mainly because the main guy in it turned out to be a great actor.

Thought S1 was brilliant.
Watched 3 episodes of S2 & binned it.

For me S2 had quite a lot of good bits and ideas, and as mentioned one really great episode.

The problem was the overall story arc in S2 was dross so anything that wasn't one of the good bits was rubbish. Plus they took one or two characters in directions they shouldn't have, and squandered plenty of opportunities with others. And they managed to take the story in a really stupid direction and have painted themselves into a corner.

No idea where they will try to (or indeed actually can) take it next but I doubt it will be particularly great compared to the options S1 promised.

Trailer for Season 3 has been released.

Jury is still out. I was doubtful I'd bother with S3 after finishing S2. Still not overly interested after seeing that trailer.

Brain damage and Aaron Paul are a good thing. Although it looks like a completely different show. Hmm.

I felt S2 was a bit bilge if the truth be told. Not sure that trailer brings me back

Doesn't look like the same show. I suppose I'll give it a couple of episodes just because of S1 but that looks like virtually every other American crime drama my wife watches FFS.

Was really, really excited after seeing the S2 trailer, but that looks awful. Not the same show at all. I'll give it a go but if you can't make the trailer look good then there isn't much hope.

Where have all the cowboys gone???

As someone above said, it looks like every other program that HBO puts out.

The only hope is the trailer is misdirection and its showing a tiny portion of the series.

Maybe this is still in the park, very reminiscent of the 'paint it black' scene from season one and two.

I can't wait for this to come back biggrin
