It's a shame. While I struggled with the storyline post Series 1, I always thought the production values were some of the best and it was the story that let it down. Top notch soundtrack, acting and special effects overall, especially for a television series. Were it not for those, I'd have sacked it off a while ago.

Yeah, can't disagree. The plots were just nonsense from S2 onwards.

I did end up buying the final season on Amazon Prime. Whilst it was distracting, it was still a disappointment, more so when I think of the ways they squandered a great idea, only to blindly focus on empowered woman with grievance issues beating up bad white guys. This trope does get old after a while, and I am not surprised people turned off, and the show cancelled.

People who really want to see the same thing over and over seem to be fewer and farther between, even more so now the artificial Twitter bots are being culled.

Given it went from 'Westworld!' to 'sort of Westworld' to 'random sci-fi bks' it was getting past its sell by date, though would've been interesting to see where a finale season could have somehow gone.

Writing has been on the wall though especially once the two main people behind it got busy with other projects & deals.

This new series from The Makers Of Westworld - The Peripheral - just isn't capturing my attention like even the worst Westworld series.

I'd love to know how they went from WW S1 to WW S3. What happened?

Good.

I loved Season 1. Tried my hardest to stay with it in Season 2 and then just watched Season 3 & 4 to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything even though I had no idea what was going on half the time. I did like the show but it's one less thing to try and keep up with.

The Peripheral however is fantastic and I am gutted they're releasing it weekly instead of all at once. I want to binge it.

I started to watch my saved series 4 the other night, half an hour or so in I stopped and deleted all the episodes. I guess I couldn't remember what happened in 3 because this made no sense at all to me.

4 was far better than 3. Rather let down in the last 20 minutes of the last episode but otherwise it was probably better than S2 or 3. But I still think it went on 3 seasons too long. S1 was perfect and that should have been it. Thankfully at least it's not been renewed.
