Evil Dead 2 and Dawn of the Dead remake stand out as well.
I was a bit sceptical about the woman in black because of Daniel Radcliffe but after watching it, what a good movie it actually was. I really enjoyed Woman in Black and Sinister. Cabin in the Woods was pretty good too.

Ferox is rubbish. But I agree Cannibal Holocaust is a much better film than its reputation suggests. If we're looking back towards lesser-known "classics" though, how about Suspiria? Argento went right off the boil in the end of course, but plenty of his work was interesting. I love Tenebrae to bits, and even found lots to like in Opera and Mother Of Tears.There are plenty of rich pickings generally if you look at Italian horrors from back then 70s/80s: all the Fulci stuff first and foremost, then Argento's biggies, then the crazy daft stuff like Alien Contamination, Burial Ground, Zombi Holocaust. Not "good horrors" but certainly eye-opening and worth a punt if you like the genre generally.
It Follows was really disappointing for me, think I just expected it to be more tense.
I did enjoy:
Them (ils) - probably the only foreign language film I've seen and it was good
Eden lake - had some great bits and is fairly grim and depressing in general which is always good)
The Conjuring - really enjoyed this and it was really creepy and stressful to watch
Insidious - some great moments, got a bit weird and surreal though
Paranormal activity - only saw this relatively reecently and actually enjoyed it a lot, just very well put together classic scary film
The Mist - very B-movie and slightly comic but had a great ending
The Host - just a genius monster/horror movie and very enjoyable to watch
The Bay - really got into this, builds slowly and has an interesting plot

My scariest film of all time! Mind you, I did watch it when I was about 12... having to run home (terrified) in the dark across the fields from my friends house was not fun!Now 20 years later I still think of that mask and it makes all my hairs stand up on my neck and gives me the creeps if I'm on my own in the house or outside in the dark
