A lot of them still don't though. I'm talking about lesser shows here, like Two and a Half men when it was running, South park, family guy etc. they' all come weeks/months after.
I imagine FTWD is a week behind because based on the first episode, it's not "hot property"
Whether you think the show is going to succeed or not (and despite having my reservations, I think it still has potential) there is no denying that it has been massively anticipated and heavily hyped.I imagine FTWD is a week behind because based on the first episode, it's not "hot property"
No doubt BT paid a pretty penny to secure AMC channel and part of the allure was this show. Not to get it out within a day or so of the US showing is a screwup of massive proportions.

Of course, but when you launch a show and you are wanting advertising revenue (or in the case of BT additional subscribers) it's probably a good idea to not leave yourself open to torrent downloaders.
But BT are ultimately trying to sell their high speed internet so it's win/win Having seen episode 2 I would say it is showing enough to keep me invested. There is still that overhanging feeling of dread and how you know it's all going to go horribly wrong very soon. That said, the riot scene lacked intensity and didn't feel very realistic. Encountering the zombie in the school wasn't as tense at it should have been either. Whilst it's clear the outbreak has begun I would have thought more people would know since everyone has a smartphone these days
Freeview 59 is the BT showcase channel. Ep1 will be free but then you'll have to be a BT customer in order to carry on watching it.
Ep1 is also free on AMC.COM. com but I have to say that it hasn't tempted me to buy into yet another TV package.
Really long, drawn out, with no sympathy for the main characters. Only the last 5 mins had any similarity with WD.

Love the walking dead but I think I already have my fill of zombies. Might get hooked though, you never know.
Looking forward to Ash vs The Evil Dead
I'm t'other way round. Got vaguely interested in the Walking Dead, but it got quite unbelivably boring. Slow, didn't give a damn about the characters in the slightest. For me, the first episode of FTWD was way more entertaining than anything that appeared in TWD. Which probably means I'll still get bored of it ....Looking forward to Ash vs The Evil Dead
Bloody hell, Ep.2 was a slow one..
I thought to myself, perhaps I'm being naive in not remembering that everyone in this series knows nothing so far, unlike TWD where people know what the walkers are, and what has happened to the world.
But even still, I'm struggling to connect to the characters in this so far.
And one thing that annoys me (in shows in general, not just this) is how people never tell each other stuff! Like when they're on the phone to each other.. The dad could've told his ex that he needs to get their son because the virus is serious and people are being shot and killed as it's spreading, but she's just talking over him, and not listening.
Then the wife who doesn't mention she just killed a zombie, the husband doesn't explain that he's held up in a shop because there's a riot outside..
Communication, people!
Still, the daughter is lovely

I downloaded episode one and fk me it was painful.
The last five minutes was good, the rest of it, dear God it was so slow.
Anytime and suspense was built up, quick adverts then the most out of place clam scene in the world.
What fk wit thinks of this. Lets go from high intense drama to nothing continually throughout the show.
It became so much more apparent with my download that didn't have the adverts in but you could tell it was an obvious advert break.

Got talking about this with the BiL at the weekend, he seemed to be under the impression that it was just a one of series to accompany TWD. Given the format and how the first two episodes have unfolded this would have made IMO. However it appears this theory is shot to st as AMC have committed to 2 seasons. Season 2 will be 15 episodes Vs the 6 in season 1.
And A 30-minute special introducing a new second season character will be released online and aired in chapters during commercial breaks of The Walking Dead. The story will be about the outbreak's effect on an airplane flight
I like the idea of lots of stories that aren't necessarily linked. Have suspenseful episodes and save some £ for some bigger set pieces.
I want to see the military response and loss to huge hordes of zombies, I don't think we'll get that. If we follow this one family we've effectively got in the end is TWD with an earlier start point, don't think that will work TBH.
ETA
Episode 2 had poor figures apparently but only compared to the premier.

Episode two was much, much better, it is still not up to the speed of The walking dead yet in my opinion, but it has promise.
I stopped watching the walking dead because it was painfully slow .... (honestly, it was quite mind numbingly tedious!)jhfozzy said:
