R.I.P.D.

0/10 would be generous. Just... don't. Really, you would regret it.

I thought I'd love it, should be right up my street... if anything I think you're being quite generous in your scoring!!!

Just watched American Graffiti (for the first time!) love it. TBH it was a throw-back to a different era of film making but it worked for me.

Jason Bourne.

Pretty good couple of hours, although it's follows a totally predictable formula of the three films before.
If you liked them you'll like this one.

The Conjuring 2.
The missus loves this st.
I thought it made a ludicrous "true" story risible.
1/10 tops.

Thought it was pretty good, way better than what I'd read on here. The surveillance parts were really pushing it to the point of ridiculous though.

Watched this on Friday.

I think they showed just how to do a remake. Just enough of the original story to be a bit nostalgic, whilst being different enough to be its own story and film.

Not quite as cute and catchy as the first, I can't see it becoming classic or more of a child favourite than the original. A solid 8/10 for me.

Green Room - liked this, same director as Blue Ruin which I also liked. Slightly indie in feel, a punk band do a gig for some neo nazis and get imprisoned and a thriller / light horror ensues.

Believable, interesting, like the indie feel, recommended 8/10

Just got back from Sausage Party. A 6 or 7 out of ten I would say. The orgy at the end was just ridiculous but lived up to the billing smile and there was plenty of innuendo, stereotyping and general filth to keep mucky minds entertained. The names of the groceries had some gems if you paid attention as well.

Apparently the orgy was toned down so it would be interesting to see what got left out smile Would watch again but if you are easily offended this isn't for you wink

Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans

modern B movie brain out fun.

simple as that, was not expecting much more than that, and that's all I got.

the 1st one is markedly better than the 2nd.

In the space of a weekend this thread has gone seriously downhill.

First we have a bloke insisting he is reviewing Empire Strikes Back and that he didn't like the sandy bits with Jabba.
Followed by another bloke suggesting Michael Caine was in Jaws.

Sort it out!!

The Magnificent Seven (1960)

With a remake due out soon, I thought I would revisit the "original" (remake of Seven Samurai).

It doesn't hold up too well. The first half, when Chris (Yul Brynner) is assembling the Seven is the best. The actual battle is poor and devoid of tension. Several of the Seven have barely anything to do.

The music is still magnificent.

6/10

I think the 'Seven' is one of those films where the aura makes it seem more than it is. I do like it. But some of the 7 are cut-outs.
