Just watched The Monuments Men on C4. Pretty enjoyable film, great cast, based on a true story (not sure how closely).

And yes the 30 years older George Clooney at the end was George Clooney's dad smile .

Deadpool - Enjoyed it. Foul mouthed superhero kills bad guys, gets the girl. 7/10

Forgot to say, does Morena Baccarin how some sort of deal with the devil, she looks younger now than when she was in Firefly.

The Sapphires.
Based on a true story about a girl soul singing group of Australian Aborigines.
They form, tour Viet Nam entertaining troops.
Uplifting, funny, touching but mainly thoroughly enjoyable.
Strong 8/10

Hunt for the Wilderpeople
a new Zealand comedy featuring Sam Neill and a you NZ lad.
will be hard to top as the best film I watch this year, was genuinely funny, great characters and scenery. the connection between the 2 main characters is amazing.
10/10
We watched it at home and almost applauded when it finished.

Best film I've seen for some time.
Just watched it based on these recommendations. Didn't disappoint and was hilariously funny.
Watched it myself yesterday. Easy watching and several places where I laughed out loud - the scene fairly early on with the pig was very funny.

Fun fact, which I learnt after watching. . . The vicar / pastor delivering the funeral "eulogy" was the film's Director

Edit - upped to 8/10 as I'm still humming tunes the day after and wouldn't mind seeing it again.

We watched it last night too thanks to the recommendations on here. Great film, lots of laughs and didn't drag at all.

Arrival 10/10

Its one the the few films I've ever seen that lives up the hype.

It's the antidote to all mindless super hero movies and lacklustre remakes and unneeded sequels from the last few years.

The Girl on the Train - It was ok, a little obvious in places, but a decent watch. It did seem to jump a little between dates and I was confused at times, but I got caught up...

Finally watched the first Hunger Games - It was ok. Just ok. I'm assured that the others are better, but as I wanted to watch the latest Mockingjay films, I was advised to watch the first one otherwise Mockingjay wouldn't make sense...
Watched that last week.
Thought it was quite good.
Especially as the movie unfolds backwards.

Love Tarantino's movies, stayed away from Hateful Eight due to the reviews, until tonight when the missus wanted to watch it.

Pile of ste, dull, boring. Lasted 40 mins, turned over.
I quite enjoyed it and thought it got better as it went on.
Nasty film. Watching it was a joyless experience.
I thought it was rather good.
A bit bloody in places, but entertaining on a boring night shift.

Really good, especially how they brought in the 1945 , wartime , time and time again, in a time loop.

Well worth watching.
