The first film gave some depth to the characters that I thought this one took a bit further; Rocket realising he's a bit of a douchebag, Peter finding his father and all the details that involved, Gamora's relationship with her sister etc etc. I also thought the general story followed on from the first film quite well in terms of the father/son thing. Without any of that, what would you be left with?
I think any deeper and you're then into the realms of taking away the lightheartedness of the films which kind of misses the point of them.
The film is exactly what it is supposed to be.

Please educate me. His acting consists of one straight face and standing bolt straight up and staring. 5 minutes of him clenching his fist with the same straight face staring. Cos you know 12 gauge at a few feet into shoulder is literally no issue at all.
The fight scene in the lift from behind when he's supposedly stomping some guys gead to pulp
He literally had no energy like he was tickling the floor. Compare with vinny jones in lock stock.

If you like lots of bullets (makes Rambo look like a Quakers advert), plot twists and a bit of tension - it might be your thing.
Was not expecting much . Sharlto Copley plays his usual South African self but that's no bad thing.

I get that there is a market for this stuff and as brain out entertainment it was fine, but the plot lines that you've mentioned above were (IMO) superficially developed at best. The tree thing that says 'I am Groot' and can be understood but can't understand anyone else and doesn't know which button to press... didn't we see that in the first film? Same with the grumpy / sarcastic fox thing. So the two sisters had a sibling rivalry and one of them wanted to kill the other one, until suddenly she didn't any more... and so forth.
I found the whole thing formulaic.

Well, we watched Sausage Party.
0/10. I would give it a negative but I see little point.
Never has a film angered me so much after blind purchase. I have watched Left Behind, a film that is actually entertaining to watch because you have to see if it can get any worse, and it consistently does. Sausage Party however was just dirge from start to finish.
We both looked at each other and said, lets give it a bit longer to get going but it didn't. Instead it made me break my golden rule of never purchase or waste time watching any film that involves Seth Rogen. Within seconds it was fking, fk, , fk, stoned, banal fanny joke, banal girth joke, retard, , fk, fking, fk , retard.
Clearly in America, for something to be considered as adult humour they go for the "insert as many swear words as possible but don't bother with funny content". The Nazi's and the juice thing, oh fking hilarious. The trailer seemed so promising, but never in the history of film has the main show been so different from the adverts.
A rubbish film that relies on using the F word inappropriately and inordinately, the word is misued so much too.
For balance, swearing when used right can be a very powerful tool both for dramatic and comedic effect, however, Sausage Party just throws it in like a hand grenade. Oh and what a surprise, Seth's character got stoned. What a shocker. I am more angry at myself for buying a Seth film, he is on a small list of 2, the other being Jack Black. Never will I fail myself again and buy or watch anything he has a remote involvement in.
If you want funny swearing, watch In Bruges.
Sausage Party isn't adult humour, its 12 year old wking off to Kays Catalogue level of humour. I'd rather spend a night in the company of Gavia and ///ajd than suffer such a waste of time as watching this film.
