To be honest the bits that don't involve car chases are virtually unwatchable. It's well worth it for those 40 minutes though
Have you seen the follow up The Junkman. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084184/?ref_=fn_al_tt...

And why didn't the Japs do the bloody obvious thing and cut down that fking net???
Because they wanted the Americans to advance into a pinchpoint; it doesn't matter how big the invading army is if they can only climb a few at a time. And they were less vulnerable to naval artillery if the Americans were on the hill. However, it seems to be universally agreed on that Hacksaw Ridge saw some of the most horrific fighting and casualties of the Pacific campaign, for both sides. I shall let their memories and motives lie undisturbed.
Keeping up with the Jones' - neighbours envy the seemingly ideal neighbours (is she Wonder Woman?) who are trained assassins, with hearts and...oh, I'm bored just writing about it. The usual brilliant marksmen who can't seem to hit anything when it counts.
Allied - a WW2 setting for an assassin who falls for his fellow assassin and tries to live happily ever after but is she who she seems? Interesting twist at the end and just about watchable.
Sadly, I never find Brad Pitt very convincing in the roles he seems to like.
As with everything, the heros are phenomenal shots and the enemies can't hit a brick wall with a million bullets.

Watched The Terminator with my 13 year old, first time I've watched it in years. A massive nostalgia rush for me and an introduction to Arnie's work for my son. It's less violent than I remembered, and probably seemed a bit slow paced to my son, and some of the stop-motion effects are a bit clunky, but given all that we both loved it and will probably bond some more over T2 next week.
I had forgotten about the brief nudity in the middle but my son just pretended to be nauseated and hit fast forward. Amazing to think it was rated 18 when first released, I think it only barely warrants a 15 rating now.

Ahh the old standby. Was it the cinema cut? I reckon it's still worth an 18. Quite a few deaths?

It is one of my all time favourite films, with that dark and gritty atmosphere that all the sequels missed. Plus it's the only one to realise that a nearly-invincible machine endlessly hunting you is pretty scary.

Films have to be pretty brutal to get an 18 certificate these days though, I would have thought it would pas for 2 as well.

Explains perfectly how the films have changed....will we ever see a truly gritty 18 version again? I doubt it. Sad.
Yah, all one needs to do is that that trailer and you've seen the whole franchise.
oh man, tonight's gonna be a night of honest trailers
best decade ever!

Patriots Day - The story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath. Well known cast.
Not bad 8/10
I liked this. Did you spot that any CCTV footage is of the4 actual bombers. Not the actors playing the roles! Not bad 8/10
Did you see the interviews at the end with the actual people?
Mark Wharlberg is still ste and I wish his character was less involved and just a bit part player after the bombing, he came across a bit captain America running around saving everything
Going back a few posts I decided to rewatch the original Gone in 60 Seconds and it s how I remembered. To be honest the first 40 minutes is barely watchable, with terrible acting, scenes that go nowhere and awful dubbing. But the second 40 minutes is a glorious ballet of destruction. The IMDB trivia page is well worth a look - several stunts went wrong but ended up in the film anyway, and there were very few extras so most of the people in the background are just members of the public thinking it was a real pursuit
