Baby driver

Interesting take on a well worn story, good kid being forced to do bad things.

Love story seemed a bit rushed and far fetched. Bad guy turning good didn't scan either and I still can't stand Jamie fox so I'm deducting 3 points.

7/10

Spider-Man Homecoming, pretty damn good film, everyone is good, but Keaton is great, as is Holland. One of the best MCU for me.

Maybe it's because I started watching at 2am. I'll give it another go soon at a more reasonable hour lok

The bit in the car near the end was menacing.

Quite a good movie but didn't leave me with that usually Marvel feel good.

I Am Not A Serial Killer (2016)

Following a pair of brutal murders a troubled teen in small town USA notices his neighbour (BTTF's Doc Brown) acting oddly.

Decent premise, cool cinematography and a great first 45 mins or so - especially the opening homage to Donnie Darko; but descends into horror/slasher nonsense. Could have been a lot shorter - the Blu-Ray came with the original short film treatment which was very good & worth a watch itself.

Only watched recently. Brilliant and one of the best films I have seen in a long while.
was only released over here in the UK this year though might have been a late '16 release in the USA.

Will watch it when it comes around on Sky I reckon

I've had a bit of an up-and-down film-fest this week. Tonight:

What We Do In The Shadows

A fly-on-the-wall mockumentary about a group of four vampires sharing a house in New Zealand. Really. Very entertaining with some laugh-out-loud moments.

Give it a go! 7/9

yes
A genuine surprise, RLM were surprised too. Very very good, and as one watches Keaton try and puzzle out what's wrong...masterful, like Hopkins in TLGF. The villain was actually well written, crafted and acted...rare!! I think it's a bit up from the regular Marvel thing, like Winter Soldier (Bucky), and GotG (Ego's actions against Peter's mum).

Dreadful start but warms up, eventually being spoilt by too many unrealistic car chases ad corny story. I think it has tried to jump on the tails of the that Too Fast and Furious tripe that the masses seem to enjoy.

The music saves it from a 4/10.

I have to agree with you about Miss Sloane, what a great movie. The ending was a bit predictable but they way it was delivered was excellent - 8/10.

Street Kings - not too bad actioner with quite a decent cast

Your Highness - so so parody of fantasy films, some funny moments but ultimately missable

Life (2017)

7.5/10

It's more than a little close to Alien, but it looks great, has a lot of original parts despite being almost an Alien reboot.

Free fire

Entertaining enough not as good as I thought it would be, some good dialogue and some of the ridiculous shooting got me mildly amused.

Alien covenant

Omfg Prometheus is no longer the worst film ever made. Somebody stop that guy making films.

After Prometheus I wasn't even prepared to give Ridley a second chance. Talk about disrespecting your own legacy.

Interesting film with George Clooney who plays a fixer for a law firm. Decent ending though not entirely unpredictable. Worth a look. 6/10

Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010)

I assume this was aimed at teens because it passed me by, back in the day and it's a bit weird but somehow enjoyable.
it really shouldn't work, on so many levels but it does.
