The Johansson one, has she been in anything good lately?
Take a look at Under The SkinI was more than a bit surprised to see Jeremy McWilliams. Watching the scene with the R1, I thought “that’s a really fast stunt rider”. Then I thought “I know that face”. And at the point when he’s standing opposite a nude Scarlett Johansson I thought “Bloody hell, it’s Jeremy McWilliams!”.
I saw Dunkirk last night and it was excellent, especially on the 70mm print. Great music score and the use of practical effects.
My OH works with a girl from Dunkirk, she mentioned once how the entire town was sick of the constant smoke and explosions while the film crew worked there.

Saw Dunkirk on Tuesday evening, I thought it was superb too. Though oddly enough I didn't get personally invested in the characters in the same way I did with Saving Private Ryan (comparisons are inevitable), but I did think it was a masterpiece of film and sound. I don't think I've seen such an immersive film in a long, long time. Definitely one to see at the cinema.

Saw John Wick at lunchtime yesterday.
Saw most of it in fast forward, still had time to wash my car and finish it in about an hour.
How can tomatoes give it 85%, really!
It reminded me of Transporter 2. Something you only watch when there is absolutely nothing else to do.
3/10
The first John Wick was great - good costume, music, bad guys, entertaining ultra-violence, etc. The 2nd one was rubbish (IMO).Saw most of it in fast forward, still had time to wash my car and finish it in about an hour.

Maps to the Stars http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2172584
Wanted to like it as I quite like most of the cast. But David Cronenberg is just so f*cking weird.
Story of the desire for fame and success in hollywood and the odd habits that people develop there. With added incest. Yeah. Strange. And violent.
2/10 I'm afraid, Needs more bug powder.

Dunkirk - Unlike one of the extras who got hit by a bomb, I wasn't blown away.
After Saving Private Ryan and Hacksaw Ridge, this felt like it had been edited to be shown at schools. Apart from a couple of planes, the Germans were nowhere to be seen, there was little threat of them breaking through and taking Dunkirk.
Almost 400k were evacuated but only 10k or so were visible on the beaches. I imagine there were a lot more boats as well.
I didn't see what the Kenneth Branagh character added apart from Kenneth Branagh.
It just all seemed a bit low budget but these are minor gripes as what was shown was well done and the music helped keep up the tension.
Ultimately it's a film about running away to fight another day and that's just not as entertaining as being on the offensive, no matter how brave the actions of all involved in the real events.
7/10 for me.

Blimey! It was the first one that I watched.
The follow up must be truly awful!
You're just wired differently I thought John Wick was brilliant and so did Mrs G. Take brain out, get comfortable and watch mayhem unfold. I got JW2 on BluRay cheap so will watch that this week. The follow up must be truly awful!
Cars 3 with the kids - it's pretty much exactly as you could imagine. But...
I'm sure in the original Cars, Lightening didn't have real headlights - hence he got the nickname 'stickers'.
In Cars 3, he does some sort of reaction training through a dark forest and they all have to switch their lights off!
So that annoyed me
eta, if I'm wrong about this, in my defence I did doze off for some of it, as spotted by both of my kids...
