The Infiltrator, Sky Movies.

Bryan Cranston stars as a chameleonic US agent who infiltrates the intricate criminal network of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.

Saw it at the cinema, it bored the pants off of me, watched it again at home, and 8/10.

I quite often find that with films, am I alone?

Its all about being in the right mood for the film i'm about to watch. If im tired then it needs to be a braindead action/comedy else i get bored.

Today - Dunkirk in iMax - 7/10 for me. Everything looked a bit sparse and it was probably a victim of its own hype as i'd gone in expecting "amazing" and anything less was going to dissapoint.

Just watched "Blood Father" on sky - Mel Gibson helping daughter. A mish mash of various films & it makes very very little sense. Watchable & i'm tired so was as braindead as i required.

Haven't seen it, but I'll be visiting this weekend. It has an Audi V8 D1 in it!

Fargo.

Saw it when lt first came out and probably twice since, one of my favs and a Cohen Bros classic.

So when they produced the tv box set I thought pfft, what a waste of time, a totally pointless venture.

I know this isn't a film but worth a mention.

My son persuaded Mrs phazed and I to have a little lookie at the first episode a few weeks ago............we were hooked, absolutely fantastic, a quality product and the best we've seen on the box, (the extended first episode could have been a film).

Season one completed last night, utterly enjoyable.

10/10

Are we the only people not to have seen this?

Season two is almost as good (some laugh out loud moments). Season 3 just lacked the humour, but Thewlis was fab. There's a thread on it in here somewhere.

Season 1 of Fargo is actually better than the movie in my opinion. It's up there with the great box sets.

Love the film Fargo, it is one of the Coen greats. Which means it's one of the greats.

I liked the first series of Fargo, the second series is excellent, they upped their game for it, I thought the third series was a bit of a come down, but still had high points.

The Wall

Not great but not terrible either.

US sniper and his spotter get out played by an enemy sniper, US spotter gets pinned behind a low unsteady wall and end up talking to the enemy sniper over the radio.

The opitomy of 5/10

Valerian... loved it. Was it a great film? No, not in the slightest but as a pop-corn spectacle it's up there. An absolute riot of colour and SFX (note to Michael Bay THAT is how to do an SFX laden film). Acting? Well Carla Delevigne is one of the stars so I'll leave you to figure that one out
Saw this on Thursday, its not as bad as I was led to belive - as mentioned it has flaws but it also has some great ideas and a pretty movie with a few cool cameos. 6/10

One thing though...

fk me they say the name of the movie maybe 500 times...no nickname in sight!

I am sure that if Besson had chosen better leads, perhaps someone like Chris Pratt and an equally charismatic female lead, this film would be almost as loved as Fifth Element in years to come. As it stands, it is enjoyable and beautiful looking, but quite forgettable, and I am sure this is down to the main leads.

Mad Max: Fury Road

The cars were superb, the stunts were amazing, it was an over-the-top spectacle. Yet it felt complete empty and emotionless, and completely failed to capture what made the original so good.

What's more, Max left pretty much the same person as when he started apart from a haircut, shave, and his entire medical history tatooed to his back.

It reminded me of the remake of Robocop inasmuch as it completely missed the point of what made the original.

That's a shame. The Fifth Element is one of my favourite films (along with The Princess Bride), and I was really looking forward to this.

I suspect that he thought that turning Mila Jovavavvavavawhitch from a model into a film star could be done twice with Carla D.... it couldn't. That said it's a spectacular film.

Just watched:

The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box. On Syfy I looked at the cast list and av. revue rating on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1376213/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19) and thought "...how bad could it be..."? The answer, regrettably, is "very". Poor effort 3/10

Spider-Man Homecoming Superb, well done Sony, now stop messing about and let Marvel do it all from now on. 10/10
Interesting reviews. I have some spare time on Wednesday and was considering going to the cinema, the only thing I liked the look of was Spiderman. I also have the option to watch Beauty and the Beast for free at home, freebie from Sky.

I'm really struggling to bring myself to watch B&TB because it really isn't my kind of thing, even if all the reviews were great. Is there singing in it? If so it's an easy choice to make and I'll go watch the spider.

"The Infiltrator". Meh. 6/10.

If it wasn't for Cranston i reckon i'd have switched this off part way through.
