Lost In Translation
Not seen this since it came out (when I was fairly young), but had the pleasure of another viewing last night. I recall very much enjoying it last time around, but it really is fabulous in many ways. Up there in my favourite films.

I often enjoy films on repeated viewings as you don't have to pay attention to the plot lines and delve into the performances and minutiae as opposed to the overall impact of the film.

Lost in Translation is one of those films.

At the weekend I watched Silver Dream Racer. I missed it when it was released, and somehow never got around to watching it until now. As it turns out, I shouldn’t have bothered. It really is rubbish.

Saw it at the flicks when it first came out. Enjoyed it but both my wife and I kept thinking that it would move on from the actual speed it was going, it didn't!

I enjoyed it all the same for the acting and storyline and have it saved to watch again soon.

Kill Switch - not sure the story is exactly great but it looked a *lot* like a live action version of Half Life 2 - including being done as first person with a fancy HUD - and the visuals were OK so it made an interesting diversion.

I was browsing a 'pre loved' games shop on Saturday, trying to find the original Half Life game. Nobody seems to have it any more.

What platform? If it's PC you can still get the legacy Black Mesa version of Half-Life for free - http://www.moddb.com/mods/black-mesa/downloads

Info on Black Mesa, scroll down for other locations for download under Download Legacy section - https://www.blackmesasource.com/

all the best of Half-Life with a new game engine and better visuals.

I finally saw Rogue One last week. It had it faults but I preferred it to The Force Awakens.

It get's worse, she had never (ever) seen a Star Wars film till about a year ago, and can't see the issue with being late for the trailers in the cinema...

Alien Covenant

Didn't think it was too bad as it answered a few questions and should provide a platform for the next one.

7/10

Am currently watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I bought it on Amazon Video and have been looking forward to watching it all day, as I love the first one.

TBH, I am hating it! It's just boring and looks like a Skittles factory explosion on our TV screen, plus the music is so middle of the road it's painful! Would have been better served as a cartoon on the Disney Channel.

Same for me, I can re-watch Rogue One but not so much TFA. I don't either of them are bad but I prefer the way Rogue One fits into the overall story.

Watched the original Robocop (again) randomly this morning. Re-watching films over and over is a waste of time according to Mrs WJB, but, in my defence, I've not seen it in full for a couple of years.

It's my favorite film so, 10/10. smile

Man Down.

American marines go to war and bad things happen. Then they come home and it gets really weird.....

Actually a little bit of an eye opener, gives a taste of what severe PTSD may be like. Worth a watch. 7/10

I started off really disliking the soundtrack, but not, I prefer it over the original, in fact, some of the tracks, and on my workout playlist for the gym.

I thought is was criminal that they played "the chain" at least twice and didn't include the iconic bass line they used for F1.
