The Handmaiden based on recommendations here. They weren't wrong, I was riveted.

Pulp fiction

Still good, never noticed the NSX before really. Still feels fresh.
My absolute fav film.

Great acting, story, soundtrack what's not to like, just bloody fantastic!

Can I rate it 10/10 on a quote? smile

It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it!

A quote? Almost every single bit of dialogue is a quote smile

Mmm, this *is* a tasty burger.

I think it was the peak of his ability after that the films are good but just not as good.

It just feels so fresh I think no other film can copy his style, proper geek film fest.

For the xxxxthousandth time, the Blues Brothers.

Sky are showing the full movie in what appears to be hd & without the crap editing for ads that plagues the itv/c4 channel 5 etc showings.

A pleasure from start to finish. Just superb/10
Introduced my 13 year old son to it just the other day. Not quite sure what he made of it all TBH, but appeared to be smiling throughout. smile
Nice one!

My dad did the same when I was way too young to fully appreciate it at the time (think I was about 8 and it was a wet Sunday afternoon when we had nothing else to do)...

.. probably had a huge effect on my interest in music of various kinds and was a big history lesson too - way before any of those topics were touched upon at school.

The Hitman's Bodyguard 10/10 action, laughs and a very likeable cast, wasn't expecting much but it more than delivered. Empire gave it a standard terrible review though confused

London Has Fallen

I wasn't expecting much, an action shooter, but failed to meet even that low hurdle. International Terrorists manage to smuggle hundred of mercenaries, guns and missiles into London and into every vantage point undetected. No real plot, just continuous demands to increase your levels of suspension of disbelief to epic heights.

Absolutely abysmal and 1/5 is generous.

Watched it about a month ago. Couldn't believe that 9/10 people in England were on the other side!

Wonderwoman

Silly girl running round doing slo-mo martial art gymnastics. Fortunately they paired her with a decent male lead because Wonderwoman's on screen presence just wasn't enough. Empowering for woman some have said, but there were still penis jokes galore. The same martial arts skills as any number of superheroes today seem to be blessed with - but this time she had an xtra special superhero weapon - the lasso of truth. How long studios can keep churning out this repetitive dross is beyond me. Award for most stupid accent and wig combo goes to Robin Wright with a huge blond barnet and awful faux Croatian lilt. What was she playing at?

One to miss.

I own most of these Marvel/DC superhero movies on BR, but for the life of me, I don't know why. For me, they are a watch-once only affair (except Dredd), and I could not honestly remember the plot (if they have one) for most of them - and the end is always the same..

Also, what is it with Martial Art/Kung-Fu in Hollywood movies, they seem to use it in any action/sci-fi film, no matter what period it's supposed to be set in! Am guessing because it looks cool...

Tremors - always dangerous rewatching stuff you loved when younger, because it often doesn't age well. Thankfully, this is one of the exceptions because it's still a great deal of fun, with likeable characters and practical effects that still look surprisingly good
