I watched John Wick On Demand this weekend. Better than the first one and SO SO AWESOME!!! He is the ultimate anti-hero IMO.
Seriously??. It struck me as totally ridiculous, yet it didn’t even hint that it was all a comedy skit. Shooting hundreds of ‘baddies’ one after another, continually, it felt like a stuck gramophone record......phazed said:

Baby Driver - It was ok. A bit style over substance 7/10
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Big fan of the first one and this was good but not quite up there. Amazing effects as you would expect and a strong script with some genuine laughs. 8/10
Mindhorn - A killer is loose on the IoM and wants to talk to Mindhorn a 70's TV detective he thinks is real. Daft but quite funny satire of cop shows. 7.5/10
The Belko Experiment - A global company "Belko" has an office block in/near Bogata. One day there is much increase security and the locals are sent home leaving a assortment of mostly yanks but a few others as well. The building is locked down and they are instructed to kill each other which they obviously refuse to do (at first). Who will survive? Quite well put together, reasonable acting and script and consistent character motivations/actions. Think Blood Royale in an office block. 8/10
Alien Covenant - Morons in space. Actually worse than Prometheus if you can believe that. Daft characters doing silly things and predictable twists. 5/10 mostly for the visuals.
Baywatch - Surprisingly funny, taking the P out of its source material. 8/10

Thor 3. Bit pf a strange one this, I should have loved it, some of it was stunning, some of it very funny and yet there was something not quite right for me and I really don't know what That being said, it's still a spectacle worth seeing
Is that the one that goldblum was flogging on j woss last week? It looked pretty funny! JG is pretty funny in general... Chimune said:

JG was on Graham Norton show last night, I don't watch the GM show but as it was JG (he's an acquaintance of a friend of mine) and I thought he may play, I watched. He was funny, and the bloke he played jazz for did an impression of him, it was hilarious.Halb said:

Finally got around to watching The Big Short. After a very awkward opening 10 minutes it becomes utterly captivating. Great performances and very clever methods of explaining horribly complex/boring financial stuff necessary to following the plot.
Loved it, can’t believe it had taken this long for me to get around to seeing it.
It's a really great watch about a time that's scarred the world and most people still know only the vaguest things about. Loved it, can’t believe it had taken this long for me to get around to seeing it.
I watched Prometheus last night for the first time - I didn't hate it, but it left a lot of unanswered questions about the story and characters. It wasn't a particularly engaging film all in.
Some of the effects were shonky though - the alien at the end, which was a bloke in a suit, was especially bad....
I'd give it a 5/10

Last night I stumbled on a film on Amazon Video which seemed to have decent reviews, so I took a chance.
The Frame (2014)
If you enjoyed things like The Twilight Zone, and were perhaps a little disappointed with the latest Electric Dreams series, I think you could do lot worse than watching this. A little slow, but beautifully put together, shot and acted.

The Death of Stalin; never have I felt so guilty about laughing so hard at a film that is so black and white when it comes to marrying political satire and human brutality. Outstanding performances from everyone, especially Jason Issacs (hello to) and some great quotable lines.
I saw it in a packed Picture House Central in Piccadilly and the entire audience was howling with laughter at times. Stark contrast to a colleague who hated it and said his screening was entirely laugh-free throughout.
Saw this last night at a similarly busy screen in Bristol. Apart from the code-breaking girl caming in late and sitting next to me on her phone, I absolutely loved it. I saw it in a packed Picture House Central in Piccadilly and the entire audience was howling with laughter at times. Stark contrast to a colleague who hated it and said his screening was entirely laugh-free throughout.
I would have liked Jason Isaacs to have had a little more screen time if I'm being picky, but the whole ensemble was great.
Strong 8.5/10.
