It was Adam Driver wot made it. Even though he was deadpan throughout, some of the scenes he's in are laugh out loud funny. When his false arm was sucked into the industrial vacuum they had smile

Did you just say "Cauliflower" ? "CAULIFLOWER" ?
Agree I found Adam Drivers awesome and found myself watching him through most of the scenes, his facial expressions were great

I thought Logan Lucky was alright , a good 7/10 really had its moments

Mrs phazed and daughter are away working tonight, ( someone has to bring in the cash so I can spend it on cars).

Normally they seriously restrict my choice of film viewing but given a free range tonight, any recommendations for an intelligent thriller/realistic action film or something non romantic/comedy/sci-fi et cetera?

I just re-read the first line of this post and it sounds like they are on the game, which they are not!

Just to add, either on Netflix or Prime.

Watched “Fracture” last Night.

It wasn’t a bad film, not the greatest but very much watchable.

I certainly enjoyed the interaction inbetween Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling.
Many of Goslings films are played too straightfaced on his behalf but this showed more character.

A highly improbable scenario but enjoyable twists and turns.

7/10

Recorded that, glad it's good.
Caught up now. Agreed very good, all three main characters were very good. Seemed like a horror at times and a very good microcosm of some of the ethical AI debates.

It almost didn't matter how it ended. I think my favourite part is when he comes into the living room looking for his boss and ends up trying to stop the maid stripping.... only to be caught by his boss trying to dress her... who then starts dancing. Just how are you supposed to act in that situation! laugh

I thought his boss played the intimidating role very well. I still don't know if he was actually going mad or was playing a role to manipulate Caleb.
Oscar Isaac - very credible actor. Check him out in ‘A most violent year’. Great film.

He was very good. I only know him from Star Wars, so it was a surprise.

I don't think he was 'mad', but I think his foibles had been allowed to go unchecked with his wealth/genius. THink of Tesla, the man who created the 20th century, he was a rather special person too.

I've been having a Sci-Fi week

Edge of Tomorrow Pretty much as expected action flick, reasonably well done (I particularly enjoyed the scene in the middle, "Wake up Maggot", Bang. "Wake up Maggot", Bang... biggrin), enjoyable film let down by a nonsensical ending he went back 2 days but the General was just announcing the outcome of what they'd just done 2 days in the future confused 7/10
It's one of my favourite films as it reminds me of the 90s action films that actually had some humour in, but I agree that the ending is a bit pants and it would've been a better film if they finished it 5 mins before the end. Re: the ending - It's a while since I saw it last but I think the end meant everything reverted back to before the big bad alien started resetting time

The Red Turtle

Animated film about a man shipwrecked on an island. What happens doesn't make sense, unless you’re willing to accept that ‘magic happens’. However it’s beautiful and touching.

Good, but probably not for a PH audience.

Burnt

Movie about high level chefs, Michelin stars and all their related drama. Quite interesting, but I never quite got the drama about super fine dining, and all the prima donna drivel to do with it.

Bradley Cooper, always worth a watch.

6/10 but only because the plot is a bit silly.

Cat People was on the box a few nights ago.

Hadn't seen it since its release in 1982 so watched it again. Sadly, even the lovely Nastassia Kinski couldn't rescue a pretty corny, somewhat pretentious film.

I came to the conclusion that playing Bowie's title track at the end of the film was the only way of stopping people walking out halfway through;)

Just watched Goosebumps with my daughter tonight.

I thought it was great! From reading and enjoying the books as a kid, i wasn't expecting much from the movie, but it had decent monsters and an interesting plot. Aside from a few jokes that fell flat, it was also genuinely funny.

Detroit.

Very good movie. Wasnt exactly what I was expecting but very good. Interesting and definitely made me feel uncomfortable that something like that could happen.

A bit more violent than I was expecting but would recommend.

Yeah, it was a pretty stupid system since most if not all films were in both threads and you had to keep up with both.
