agreed on this.
the trailer for CTA 2 seems like eddie playing eddie murphy- i'm hoping not.
At some point Eddie Murphy became so big that the films just became about indulging him. Which is a shame, because in his early films he is very good. the trailer for CTA 2 seems like eddie playing eddie murphy- i'm hoping not.
The last time I saw his do anything half decent was in Dream Girls. Coincidentally that’s a role which is far from the lead, and the character isn’t just him doing what he wants.

Off topic: watched a Youtube trailer for the sequel and came across a video that said Eddie Murphy has 10 kids with various ex's! I know he gets paid well, but that kind of child support must be substantial.

I watched Escape From Pretoria last night. It had its nail biting moments but overall, I wasn't that impressed. 6/10 for me. I found it a bit slow. Wife walked out partway through.
I think Radcliffe was poorly cast. I can’t take him seriously in a serious role. Slow 5/10 MarkJS said:

‘I care a lot’ with Rosamund Pike. Really enjoyed it and certainly one of the best films so far in 2021.
We watched this last night and really enjoyed it. Hard to explain, but it had a feel of an American 'Layer Cake' about it at certain points to me. Very funny in parts too.Ok my LG TV anyway. As far as I know there is no setting in the app to make your default resolution UHD if it's available.

Daniel Radcliffe plays Tim Jenkin and the film follows him from his arrest and imprisonment in 70's South Africa after he's convicted of producing and distributing leaflets for a banned organisation - the ANC.
I found the acting excellent and it wins where many films fail with the right amount of suspense in the right places. The build up to escape attempts and the performances of the other members of the small cast are superb.
Well worth a watch.

I can't say I shared your enthusiasm for this one - even my wife walked out on it. I felt the suspense was artificial and too hard to accept as part of the reality of the story. Overall, not one I will be rushing to recommend. I found the acting excellent and it wins where many films fail with the right amount of suspense in the right places. It is interesting to see how we have different views on the same film.
It is, I know some of my mates would never watch a film like that, no aliens, shooting or lazers
I can watch Robert Redford in a film on his own not speak an single word and still enjoy it immensely. Some people can’t sit still for two minutes and won’t watch a film if someone isn’t decapitated in the first five minutes.
Each to their own.

Bosch spinoff confirmed
IMDb TV has picked up a spinoff of the long-running Amazon crime drama, with stars Titus Welliver, Mimi Rogers and Madison Lintz reprising their roles from the original series.
This comes as the seventh and final season of the show launches this summer on Amazon.
The untitled spinoff will follow Harry Bosch, played by Welliver, as he embarks on the next chapter of his career and finds himself working with his one-time enemy and top-notch attorney Honey “Money” Chandler, played by Rogers. With a deep and complicated history between this unlikely pair, they must work together to do what they can agree on — finding justice.
