No way! Preacher is fantastic!
Series 1 was certainly brilliant. I cant think of anything I have watched that made me laugh so much as the episode with the Angels in the hotel room, I must have watched that scene about 20 times pissing my self laughing. Season 2 was alright but not a patch on Season 1. I havent started Season 3 yet as I want them all to be released before I start it.

Preacher is amazing. For me it was the chainsaw/church scene in S01.

It's mellowed a bit in S03, but remains leagues ahead of anything else on TV atm, Altered Carbon aside.

As per my last comment, Bosch is great and Jerry Ryan and Mimi Rogers in one season is a win by anybody's standards.

I am, as usual, a little late to the party with this one.

Halt & Catch Fire I've binged all 4 seasons over the last few weeks and have to say, it is absolutely superb! Each season sees a new innovation, the whole thing oozing with nostalgia and 80s technology.

9/10

I see a lot of praise for Preacher on here. Tried the first episode and, wasn't really drawn in...what am I missing?

I first caught it on amc from bt, then watched the lot on prime.

Great series, especially as i lived through the whole period whilst working in IT and electronics.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress.

Japanese animation - mixture of steam punk, Edo Period Japan and post zombie apocalypse where everyone lives in walled towns/stations and the only route between them is in massive armoured trains to avoid the fast tough zombie hordes.

And obviously things go a bit tits up.

Bit different, quite interesting.

Yup - I mentioned this a while back but nobody commented on it.

I enjoyed it - good premise, and interesting story. Some elements are similar to Attack on Titan, which is hardly surprising as it is from the same people.

Shame they haven't done a 2nd series of it.

Smiler.

Road of Giants.

Follows Tom Weeden en route to his first TT on the IOM.

A bit rough round the edges, but intersesting nethertheless.

At first, I thought Keith Allen was playing his old man.

It's a interesting bit of history. *Lots* of creative license (obviously) but still a good way of learning about how things were.

Im new to Prime, so which of the following should I watch first?

Preacher
Goliath
Startup
Bosch
I've only seen Bosch and really enjoyed all the series. Preacher is next on my list to see.
Started watching Sneaky Pete - Good for S1, but then I just got bored of it.
The Tick is quite good in a silly way.
Currently on S4 of Vikings and quite liking it.

I liked the tick, although I was hoping for Joe from Family Guy to play him again wink

Finally got round to watching Land of Mine, a brilliant foreign language film about German pows being forced to clear mines from the Danish coast after ww2.
I cannot recommend it enough, thought provoking and tense, really worth a look. If you don't believe me check it's rating on imdb.

Also another foreign subtitled series I'm getting into is Mafia undercover each episode is 1 1/2 hours long but it looks good so far

I know there's a little group of us fanbois over on the Preacher thread, but if you haven't, please give it a go. Ratings are only at 1m and it really deserves so much more. Whilst it doesn't purport to be 'The Best show ever made', it really is one of the the most enjoyable and creative series I've seen in recent years. Amazingly dark and genuinely funny with very clever story arcs that are anything but mainstream TV ste. A real breath of blood and intestine infested fresh air, comically over the top whilst remaining very touching.

Anyone started on Jack Ryan yet? I've done the first two episodes so far and will likely binge the rest this weekend.

So far so good, first impressions are is it's like how Homeland should be, or would be without Carrie angst but with a small side order of non cheesy early Strike Back action (if that can be a compliment) hehe
