Personally I would kick off with Red Storm Rising. What a book that is! Then get into Red October and so on and so forth.
Great book! I must read that again.sas62 said:

Jumped into Ozark S2 last night.
To be honest we should have watched the end of S1 again, because we'd basically completely forgotten where it had left off, and spent most of the time trying to remember who'd done what to whom.
Unless I am missing something, I don't see Ozark S1 or S2 on Prime. To be honest we should have watched the end of S1 again, because we'd basically completely forgotten where it had left off, and spent most of the time trying to remember who'd done what to whom.
Its very good though, so recommend it if you have Netflix.

I tried to watch this but wow she was not good to listen to!! I lasted 30secs However, considering it isn't my favourite type of genre I am really enjoying the series so far and drawn in to the characters both good and bad!

Strange, I love her delivery. I also like the Muppets. However, considering it isn't my favourite type of genre I am really enjoying the series so far and drawn in to the characters both good and bad!
She reckons it's the best written political show of it's kind....the only other one I can think of is Rubicon.

isn't this Jack jnr though ? Jack snr didn't get out the marines due to his accident ?
I thought Jack Snr was invalided out of the Marines due to an injury from a chopper crash? Later fixed when he made his millions. Havent seen the Jack Ryan Jr series(or read any of the books)yet so no idea if that is what happened to him too-seems very unlucky for the family if he did! Agree on Red Storm Rising, an amazing book,1 of the best if not his best

I always thought that Red Storm Rising would make an excellent mini series. The budget to do it justice would probably increase the cost of Prime by £50 though!

It probably would do, though a story about a massive war in the 80's between NATO and the Warsaw Pact countries might have dated a bit. Though I guess it could be sold as alternate history with some tweaks? And maybe tone down the excess detail, it's a bit anoraky as written.Agree on Red Storm Rising, an amazing book,1 of the best if not his best
If I was going to make anything from a book into TV series it would be Without Remorse. There have been some decent series recently set in that period and it's a good strong story that doesn't exactly rely on its links to the rest of the Ryan books. For reading though it helps to read them in order so you appreciate the details.

Im gonna have to re watch it now, watched it on my laptop at 1080, didn't think it was in 4k.I've nearly finished the series and I'm giving it some marks for not doing the predictable all of the time (just some.) I just hope they don't turn Jack Ryan into some Kieffer Sutherland type Designated Survivor, super-saccharine boy scout character.
