Just finished James May : Our Man In Japan over the last couple of evenings. Absolutely brilliant! Very natural presenting style that makes a few references to his 'other' job, but clearly still having a blast travelling on his own / with a different crew without having his car amusingly crashed into in some remote jungle.
I knew I wanted to visit Japan before but this has confirmed it for me. His fixer/guide Yujiro had me in stitches at times.
Also... never noticed how much I liked Japanese girls before... think James might have been the same

Well he certainly seemed very taken with his translator in ep 2 and yes many Japanese girls are awesome. I knew I wanted to visit Japan before but this has confirmed it for me. His fixer/guide Yujiro had me in stitches at times.

"Thud Pilots" is pretty good.
Pilots' stories and experiences flying the F105 Thunderchief "Thud" in the Vietnam war.
I started watching it, but found it fairly light on facts and rather biased. When the narrator referred to the Peace Protesters back in America as "siding with the enemy", I turned it off in mild disgust.Pilots' stories and experiences flying the F105 Thunderchief "Thud" in the Vietnam war.
Just finished The Expanse 4th Series, very good recommended if you like "hard" Sci Fi, more like Babylon 5 than anything. I'd love to know how they did the "weightless" effects which are particularly striking.
Just started Jimbo May in Nippon (managed to watch first 20 minutes before a minor drama interrupted me) looks well worth watching.

If you look on YouTube then Kyle Hill (Because Science), Adam Savage (of Mythbusters fame), and others, have done videos about it. TL;DR - mostly wire work and camera angles. Often the actor will be suspended horizontally and the camera rotated, so the final shot shows the actor vertically, thus fooling the eye.

The Marvellous Mrs Maisel.
Just watched the first episode of the first season...just incredible...fantastic script, acting and sound track. Really funny....REALLY funny story of a Jewish housewife who’s wanna be stand up comedian husband leaves her for his secretary. So she decides to try stand up for herself. Looking forward to episode two.

It was very good to start with but tailed off dramatically, think about episode 4 or 5. Yup. It seemed to me to be very rushed in the first half so that they could get the big battle scene in before the mid-season break.
Surely they can't have killed off Bjorn with ten episodes left to go?
Are we sure he is dead though? Especially so after they killed of Lagatha as wellSurely they can't have killed off Bjorn with ten episodes left to go?
I'm not so sure, there is not many, if any, strong characters left so i wouldn't be surprised if he makes a miraculous recovery
There is a lengthy Vikings thread if you didn't know:

And none of them were shown to die. Defeated yes at the end, but when the crown went there wasn't a definitive last breath, Bjorn had the newfangled surreal filming thing with Ivar, and is he dead or was it metaphorical as the convo was merely about defeat? Shame it will take so long to find out...
