Blood Machines on Shudder. It's an odd one, I think I liked it. Can't think of anything I didn't like, it's just weird. Spaceship crash lands on a planet, something weird about ships being living things, naked woman with a glowing upside down cross. It's hard to explain really. Looked great though, in a low budget made to look like an 80s film on purpose sort of way. The soundtrack is Carpenter Brut, it all started off with a Kickstarter campaign and a music video called Turbo Killer

(There are no Corvettes or Countaches in Blood Machines though, because it's in space)
Low budget 80's films -> synthcore -> low budget 80's looking film. The circle is complete.

The Wine Show. Only caught the second series when it was on terrestrial telly and enjoyed that. Opportunity to see the first series of 17 episodes and you really cannot watch it without joining in drinkhehe

I may have a slightly sore head this morning...headache

The King Of Staten Island

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9686708

Scott has been a case of arrested development since his firefighter dad died. He spends his days smoking weed and dreaming of being a tattoo artist until events force him to grapple with his grief and take his first steps forward in life.

Enjoyable comedy/drama

I watched the first 10 minutes of Ron Hopper's Misfortune last night, may need to continue. Looks like trying to be a deep & thoughtful film about the nature of love and time (I think) Only problem is, the mysterious eternal figure is played by ...Vinnie Jones!!

Has anyone watched Homecoming Season 2 yet? I really enjoyed the first series but it looks like the second has mixed reviews.

Little Fires Everywhere - Definitely one I’d have missed if it wasn’t for Mrs T wanting to see it. First episode makes you think it’s poor woman vs rich woman sort of thing but it progresses into much more. Written by a woman, focusing mainly on the female characters, it’s probably aimed at women too but once I got past the first one or two it got me hooked.
I've just seen E2. It's hard to describe and make it sound good but so far it's just a nice thing to watch. I'm enjoying it and glad I started it!
We just completed Little Fires Everywhere.

I really really didn't like it.

Mainly I think as all of the characters are awful people. There is no-one in it that is particularly likeable. Makes it very difficult to enjoy the program I thought.

Very difficult to describe too.
I thought the Dad of the rich family was OK as an individual. But couldn't help thinking he should have been played by Jason Bateman.
This feels like sort sort of trap where I'm forced to confront my prejudices after I realise that the Richardsons were in fact the awful ones with their white privileges and Mia was just fighting for justice. I'm 5 in though and developing a dislike for the Richardson children is my only opinion that has changed so far.

Noticed that 'The Prestige' - widely regarded as one of Christopher Nolan's best films - is now free on Prime
I think it is a brilliant film!
Yes please! First time I watched this, I missed so many 'clues', even better on the second watch.

I’m afraid I don’t share this view so it’s not for everyone. I’ll avoid any spoilers but it felt a very bleak tale of very “well trodden” stereotypes.

Late to the party but started man in the high castle last night. What an intersting premise. Looks promising?

I liked the premise of the first series. And I have played a lot of video games like Wolfenstein: The New Order (etc), and read a lot of fiction, that explored similar ideas. When I came to Series 2 of Man in the High Castle I sort of lost interest for some reason (not sure why) and I keep meaning to go back to it.

What amazed me was how popular it was in America.

Great series and a lot of the special affects was made using a freeware software called Blender. I did spend time looking for modern stuff.

It is but rarely do aviation films have any level of accuracy about them. This one clearly had quite a lot of input from flight crews which redeemed it slightly. The only thing that annoyed me was him “declaring a 7500”, 7500 is a squawk not a declaration.

This was excellent. Edge of your seat stuff.

Stuff of nightmares of course.

Some fairly brutal moments. A lot of ‘why don’t you just?’ and ‘don’t do that’ moments too.
