Invincible. 18 rated animated superhero show.

Well acted, well animated, straightforward telling of a story in a world of superheros. All the characters are familiar archetypes of heroes and villains, much like the Seven in The Boys are analogous to the Justice League.
But it’s not a comedy or an ironic deconstruction of the genre, which is what you’d except of an 18 rated animated show.

It gets brutal as they show how much damage a super strong being can do to the human body.
It's brilliant, a bit like The Boys mixed with a Saturday morning cartoon.

Stumbled upon an interesting documentary called New Town Utopia.

Focus was primarily on how Basildon came to be but also looks at the long disproved theories as to how live should be lived in the future and the absurd design ideas that people had to endure (heating in the ceiling because the sun radiates heat downwards!!!).
Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. They dealt with so many strands of social commentary, but entirely accessible throughout.

The BBC should have been behind that - but it's laughable to think that they'd be in any way capable of taking a good long stare into British cultural history without invoking any number of their irrelevant agendas. Casting a microscope over a 'big idea', and then watching the impacts of both the input and output sides of public administration, and the role of cultural pursuits, really makes you despair at what those we elect do unto us all.

In the grand scheme of television, it won't even register, but kudos to Amazon for making it available to a wider audience.

I think we’re alone now Post Apocalypse type end of Human race with Peter Dinklage as a lone survivor cleaning up his town and burying bodies whilst categorising the library until a typical (teenage) girl arrives and ruins his peace. Superbly shot and directed and darkly humorous. Doesn’t have great reviews elsewhere but we really enjoyed this.

5, not politically correct, out of 7 Dwarves.
Cheers, on the watch list.

New to Amazon prime and was watching the Americans and suddenly it’s gone to pay by episode.

Is there a place I can go to see when things will move to pay?

Do they ever move back from pay to Prime free?

Just finished "Tales From The Loop"

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Each episode is the story of a resident of a town in the vicinity of a research facility which seemingly alters time and reality.

Some have said the pace is a little slow, but that misses the point. It's really good if you like something a little different and thought provoking

I've just finished S4 & that was FTC - be annoyed if it's now pay for S5 onwards.

I've got one of Simon Stålenhag's books, because I enjoy his artwork, but I thought Tales From The Loop was awful; turgid and directionless. I didn't even get through a whole episode.

Oh, by all means do. Everyone except me (and my wife) thought it was bloody marvellous. If you enjoy watching paint dry, you'll have a great time. smile

Snap ,and to my knowledge they don’t come back to prime and they don’t tell you when shows are going to be removed .
We were watching the Americans and Damages and both got removed from prime at the same time.
Yes it is infuriating .

Yup - very marmite - I can see why it doesn't hit the spot for some people, but personally thought it a fine and stylish gentle reality-bender. But I notice I tend to like that sort of stuff with (elsewhere than Amazon) such things as "Dark" and Travelers" etc....

I can see where you are coming from and don't disagree with you. However, if the point is that the pace is deliberately slow, and you complain that the pace is slow, then surely it's a valid observation to say that you are missing the point? smile

Or am I missing the point? silly

All seasons are now PPV at £15 per season.

That is most annoying as I was a few episodes in to S5. How many people are going to pay that?

Just checked & that's the case - thieving tossers.

I'll see if I can get it on eBay, watch & re-sell.

Pisstake to do it without warning, puts me off bothering to start another lengthy series.

Exactly!

Found it by accident and had no idea what to expect - which probably makes it even more shocking.
