Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here but watching “Start Up”, which I would thoroughly recommend. It’s a 3 part series and we are currently into Season 2. It’s Based around Crypto Currency but don’t let that put you off. It tells the fictitious story of how three people from different backgrounds form an unlikely alliance to create a company along BritCoin lines. Based in Miami, it mixes the Spanish/Haitian community with Hi Tech Computer Markets and how it can be corrupted by unscrupulous business and Russian Mafia. Martin Freeman plays an FBI agent, a long way removed from “The Office” but carries the part well in my opinion. Contains enough plot to keep you interested with the occasional shocking moments of “I didn’t see that coming” variety. One of the things I like is that there is no irritating background music, the story progresses forward without flashbacks and there are no “one year earlier” scenarios. The acting all round is of a high standard.
I suggest you may want to watch with subtitles as some of the authentic dialogue can be a little hard to follow!

Just started watching “The Bridge”. It’s about the Mexican cartels around Juarez and El Paso. Loosely based on the original Scandinavian one. I didn’t realise it’s now 8 years old. Well worth a watch. Sky did “The Tunnel “ again loosely based on the Scandi one.

Palm Springs

Been waiting for this for ages and it lives up to expectations, fantastic film.

Best viewed knowing as little as possible.

Killswitch.

A nice low budget Half-Life'esque sci-fi film. But thoroughly enjoyable.

A bit like half-life.

Those who like wordy, deep plots, no plot holes, billion dollar special effects, A-list actors and no clichés will hate it though and will no doubt post up that it is the worse film they have ever seen.

But did I mention it is a bit like half-life and very enjoyable for those who are easily pleased by any sci-fi

Enjoyed it - perfect Saturday night viewing!

And in the 'also might like' suggestions is:

Iron Sky - The coming race

which is looking promising as well!

I saw the original when it came out. An odd film - it didn't seem to know what it wanted to be. Serious, satire, parody, slapstick, pastiche, it oscillated between them all.

I must get round to watching this sequel.

More like half-life 2 hehe

Wasn’t bad. Could’ve been better with more thought invested in the emotional element of the story.

Star Wreck, In the Pirkinning is the best thing they've done IMO. I thought I'd love Iron Sky but you summed it up- it was just bizarre.

I'm as pleased as punch that my review of Killswitch prompted other non-fussy and easily pleased low budget Sci-Fi watchers to have a look, who also seemed to enjoy it for what it is.

It's a bit like Half-Life don't you know.

6/10 at best....don’t believe the hype and watch Groundhog Day instead it’s far better.

Watched it last night, big fan of Samberg, but that was average at best.

I'm not sure where it could go after S3, really.

Nick really became a grade A bellend, though. laugh

Truly amazing that Clint is still making good films at his age

I don't believe I've seen a bad one.

Total legend.
