Watched this last night - Sea Fever
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2716382/?ref_=nv_sr_s...

I enjoyed it. Decent acting and I'm a big Dougray Scott fan.

International film festival stuff, a B-Movie.

Onto season 6 of Bosch. Still not bored of it! Absolutely superb, A+.

And is it normal for LAPD detectives to wear submariners but not seatbelts? laugh
maybe I'm missing something?

I lost interest after S3 and that was a struggle.

Jeez imagine it:
<<cuts to office scene>>
Man: We provide valuable short-term skills which oil large projects, taking personal risk
Man: Bloodsucking tax evading workshy dodgers
<<repeat ad nauseam>>

Unlikely Hero/Paperman 2009

Popped this on because of Daniels "funny man" credibility and it was OK if a bit left field. Some LOL moments but overall a bit of a "pass the time film".

6/10

Any one seen 'The Father' ? Sorry if it has been mentioned in the 259 pages before!

After some recent family illness it is pretty close to home but I still found it excellent.

Worth a watch but not one to cheer you up.

Well, this evening I watched the final two episodes of This Is Us (season 6 episodes 17/18).
Quite simply my favourite ever TV show, I have loved every second of every episode of every season.
Episode 17 ("Train") must be one of the best things I've ever seen on TV; so imaginative, warm and yet incredibly emotional.

Wow. Farewell to the Pearsons, and those involved in their story. Six years of, quite simply (IMHO) the best thing on television.

These were all available immediately weren't they? I've watched them all. Very good too.
Edit: I just checked and I was wrong. I have 4 episodes I haven't watched! Thank goodness I'm on this forum.

Absolutely brilliant, terrifying, heartbreaking film. What a performance by the main characters, recommended

Ten percent looks quite fun in the mould of W1A, though not as funny.

Natasha Little is still gorgeous.

We loved the French original. Fingers crossed for the English remake.

The English remake doesn't even make a 'poor cousin' rating.

Yeah, I saw it. And whilst it was exceedingly well done, it was just too close to home and raw. The ending did for me. And whilst totally different films, it reminded me of 12 Years a Slave - yes a powerful story, but I like to be entertained by a movie, not told how awful everything is/was.

I’ve not seen Call my Agent so I can’t compare it with 10%, but I agree it’s very similar to WA1 in the way no sentence is ever completed and meetings involve a lot of talking but no conclusions. I find the dialogue clever and it’s amusing to see real actors playing themselves but still performing a part, eg Dominic West, Helen Bonham Carter and Tim Mack and Ernie (1 person).
If some contributors prefer Call My Agent, then I shall give that a watch also.

After 2012 and W1A, I find that dialogue style really tired now.
