Just another view on this subject. Chris Evans may own or have owned wonderful cars but in his motoring pages in The Mail on Sunday Event magazine he really scoops the bottom of the barrel with the cars he tests and writes about, today it's the Honda Civic Type R, not a bad car but any of us can go into a local Honda dealership and try one if so inclined.
JC would rarely get out of bed for anything less than a £100k car and then he would burn the rubber at Dunsfold. That is what we wanted to see, not how good the latest Viva is to commute to Broadcasting House.

I think clarkson will be missed like Chris Moyles is missed at Radio 1 - it all seemed like a good idea at the time, but when you look back it'll be like - No.

Yes, merely demonstrating their total lack of any mechanical sympathy. Plus, exceedingly boring to this car enthusiast.
When was the last time you saw the spannerphobe Clarkson open a bonnet and talk about the engine? Doubt he knows where the bonnet release is!
All that smoking tyres torture will never do it for me. Worsened with further negativity content interspersed with incessant quotes from the crib-sheet about "torques" and power outputs. Topped only by the childishly silly over long time wasting segments like the Peugeot madness a few shows back.
... anyone suggesting looking for the off switch will be shot! It is still possible to enjoy parts of any progtramme and be critical of other parts at the same time.
