I have to say, my "toshometer" began to twitch when I saw the trailer the other day.

Dear All,

slightly too much whooping but a moderately entertaining hour. I fell asleep between the dyno reporting 25bhp and the 75bhp or so achieved on the airboat. I don't know how much detail they went into about the rebuild. This is the bit I wanted to see!

Also does the engine really explode if oil temp >90°C? False jeopardy alert.
I'll nonetheless give it another go next week smile

regards,
Jet

I watched it too.

Like you say, too much whooping, but not bad.

I will sky plus them and watch them during at some point - perhaps forwarding some of the more irritating stuff.

I've just watched it on quest , it's repeating now on plus 1 , it was fairly interesting with the t5r Volvo engine being tuned to 700 plus bhp and then competing in the Icelandic buggy up the quarry side race thing !

Did my ears deceive me or did he call the replacement turbo a "big c*nt"?

Not sure , but it was nice to see someone with some mechanical understanding and skill presenting , I'm not convinced it was him driving at the end , not unless he's had a few weeks practice while making the programme ? It was an outstanding result for a complete novice if it was him

Interesting show, but littered with technical errors; among them are lines about supercharging the engine by turbo-charging it and implying a Dodge Viper outputs 1600bhp. Also a bit frustrating that the entire engine build is massively glossed-over.

The original term (well, possibly not quite the original) was "turbosupercharger". smile

BIL told me about this and watched the boat episode. Very good but not a fan of the presenter

Still worth watching if you like this sort of program

Same here. I did think about rewinding it to re-listen, but I figured I was just hearing things and he wouldn't have said that.

I have it recorded, and I am sad enough that I am going to go back and re-listen bounce

Lol What a saddo I am.

Me and the Mrs re-listened to it about 10 times and we are pretty sure he is actually saying 'big guns'. BUT my word does it sound like he is saying 'big c**t'.

I've resorted to counting the mistakes. I will try and get out more often in future.

It's OK but his trying to build up suspense like American shows if annoying. He's trying to hard it could be a good show otherwise.

these comments sum it up for me, watched 3 of them now and it's grating.

Not sure if he's just a muppet or if it's dumbed down to death?

some of the stuff they do is totally stupid (two enfield engines linked by what???)

then add in the constant jeopardy/hype/etc is just horrible.

If he did actually drive that himself then that's impressive, but as said, I very much doubt it was.

The constant jeopardy does get on my nerves, but then I watched this week's episode, ouch! If they were trying to stage something, it all went wrong!

I'm not claiming it as a success, but as he was climbing in his 'flying' machine, I was wondering about the carb icing up, it used to do it regularly on my first motorbike.
