Marvels Jessica Jones
Discussion
I've just finished binge watching this, thought it was brilliant. I never noticed the darkness in the shooting people are on about, maybe my TV contrast and brightness is turned right up. Tennant was an excellent baddy and I thought Simpson's storyline ended up heing very interesting as it's opened up some storylines for the future. I knew that doctor was bad news the moment he asked for him.
Someone said there was no comedy, I rarely laugh at out loud at TV and this is no different, but I don't need to physically laugh for something to be funny. One of my favourites was when Kilgrave met Cage and they had a short exchange along the lines of: "Stop! Who the bloody hell are you?" "Luke Cage" "Did Jessica send you?" "No, I followed her here to kill you" "oh great! Get in the sodding car," then the look on their faces as they just all climbed in.

Daredevil season 2 in 2016.
Luke Cage in 2016.
Iron Fist after that.
Then they all come together in The Defenders. Cracking stuff.
Are these all Netflix original series too?Luke Cage in 2016.

There was a deal with the New York authorities to film all of them in the same area of the city, to give a sense of being set in the real world.

It's got a second series, and Netflix are thinking of doing a Punisher series too. http://io9.gizmodo.com/rejoice-were-getting-season...
Finally got round to starting this last night (prompted by the release of trailers for Luke Cage/Iron Fist/Defenders)
Only watched the first episode but I really liked the feel of it from the outset.
Odd, dark and when when Hope pulled the gun in the lift, with that smirk on her face downright bloody creepy!
Keen to watch more.

They really didn’t know how to use her character in Defenders. Luke Cage and Daredevil were a poor second place to Iron Fist but JJ seemed sidelined. It’s as if they don’t really yet know what powers she has.
Iron Fist got poor reviews but I binge-watched it and thought it was OK. Defenders too.
I’m binge-watching The Punisher at the moment and I’m a bit less engaged but I think that’s because it doesn’t feel worthy of a Marvel series to me - no super powers.
I hope JJ S2 proves to be better. The first one was good but all of these series have suffered from slow pacing.

I’ve not read the source comics but Wikipedia’s summary of her comic history says she can. In the first TV series, she did “jump” into the air but it wasn’t clear if it was a jump or controlled flight. She doesn’t habitually use that or any of her other powers really. I think it was in Defenders where one of the others accused her I having contempt for her abilities. Seems about right and might explain why her full capabilities are unknown.
I thought Jessica Jones was just super strength combined with her investigative intuition making her character. I recall her jumping from a roof in season 1 and landing on the floor just fine, part of the super strength I assume.
Flying is another dimension entirely. I don't know the source or comic material so just going off the TV stuff I've seen.
