Absolutely ! Having read all the books and likely will have read book 9 before season 6 comes out (book 6 ish) will be interesting to see how much more the tv show diverges from the books .. Still a brilliant show, just annoyed me with Alex dying in the last season as I was just reading book 6 at the time and it really played with my head !
Same for me, hoping to have read the last book before this airs. I had a marathon book reading session over the summer so a lot of the individual books have merged into 'one big story'.This season is only 6 episodes and uses book 6 and the Strange Dogs novella as it's source. Would love to see them cover the other books at some point but can see how that might not work for TV.

1st episode has rescued the show for me, i thought it might burn out like GoT, but wow the the first show really hit some deep depressive notes and set up a tone that without the other storylines coming to their ends, is already focusing on a conflict that has changed the entire feel of the show and the solar system it's set it.

It was very good, but I don't see how they can wrap it up in 6 episodes. Each episode is supposed to be accompanied by a 10 minute short on one of the characters.
agree - and this worries me.....was great to see it back - shame we have to wait weekly - i suspect the last "episode" might be a mini movie length finale.

Numerous series finish with fans unable to agree on the satisfaction of said conclusion. It's a shame if the last episode out of, what? 60-odd? episodes is so bad that it turns you against the whole thing.

It seems that, not only are there only 6 episodes in this season, but I am sure each episode proper has a running time of around 30 minutes, once the beginning/end credits are taken off, and the 'Previously' catch up segment at the beginning.
Episode 3 was 45 minutes of new stuff for me. They are doing bits of the books that I hadn't expected, the space combat in this show is unsurpassed. Saw some rumours of a follow on series and/or film, apparently Amazon had to negotiate new rights in order to carry on so I'm hoping these rumours after true given how much of the story is left to be told.rasto said:
