I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to watching it from the start again in full knowledge that the end will not disappoint.

Me too. I think it shows the benefit of having the authors of the book very closely involved in the running of the show and the benefit of having very well defined stories to tell. At no point did it feel like they were just making up as they went along.

Very enjoyable set of series and gave something new to a pretty tried and tested genre.

The last episode signed off well for Production Company A and clearly left more on the table for pitching to Production Company B. I thought they balances that well.

Really enjoyed the finale.

The action was tense. A quick death was better than Marco Inaros deserved. I’m glad it was Naomi that ended him. Sad that she has to live with the belief that she killed her son, although it’s fair to assume she will find out the truth eventually.
Holden politically out manoeuvering Avasarala was brilliant.

I thought they did a very good job of balancing the need to end the show, while leaving it open ended enough to be continued at some point in the future.

I thought it was a bit rushed to be honest. A lot of stuff got tied up in a neat bow a bit too easily.

I had to watch the initial space fight 3 times to figure out what had happened. The way they cut from the plot Avasarala was looking at, to what drummer was looking at to then Inaros' ship jettisoning it's disguise just didn't click with me that they were 2 different ships. Then we never did figure out what happened when drummers right hand man gave chase to the Pella and then collided with something? Did it collide with the Pella or something else? And if the latter how did the Pella get so much damage?

I don't understand how the roci and the freighter got to the ring so far ahead of everyone else. Presumably they started behind the free navy? They were on Avasaralas ship at the start which was at Ceres?

I thought the end of Inaros was a very clever way to do it but at the same time it just seemed unsatisfying. And after building Inaros and the free navy up all season, all of a sudden his ship is damaged, crew are injured, his martian buddies have deserted him and then he's snuffed out and that is the end of it and the end of the free navy? That all petered out too easily. Nice to see Filip came to his senses at the end and bailed.

Did like the end though with Holden and drummer out manoeuvring avasarala. Drummer would certainly do a great job. Better than any of the inners or martians.

Stuff on Laconia looks very interesting. A shame we might not get to see where it goes.

Despite being the best battles in Sci Fi they can be a bit hard to follow and I usually watch them again. The guy on the kamikaze run was taken out by a free navy ship kamikaze-ing him, but the wreckage still hit the Pella.

I need to give this series another chance. I stopped about two thirds through season two back in 2017, but knowing I'll have to start from scratch again is putting me off.

They cannot leave it there can they?

The whole underlying question of the entire plot remains unanswered.

The proto molecule, what is it?

I suspect that the battles between the 3 fleets of the free navy, and the UN, MCRN and Drummer fleets slowed the free navy up whereas the Roci and ice hauler would have been on a hard burn to the ring.

Just before the real Pella revealed itself you saw on the battle chart that the ship they thought was the Pella had a dropping drive signature probability, as presumably they got close enough to identify it more accurately.

Inaros' ship has the eagle symbol on it which you can see when the disguise was dropped. Drummers fellow ship gets taken out before it can hit Inaros' ship but the inertia of it's exploding parts mean the Pella still takes a beating. It's worth noting that Inaros' ship is a Martian cruiser- bigger and tougher than the Rocinante.

The UN, Martian and Drummers faction met at a staging point, the Rocinante headed straight for the ring and hid behind the ice hauler.

I would have liked to have seen more of the other battlegroups. I think the UN ships in particular have been lacking airtime in the show and I generally love the high speed kinetic warfare that the Expanse brings. The most I remember seeing them was when they lost the ring to Marco & the rogue Martians.

Persepolis Rising: Book 7

Tiamat's Wrath: Book 8

And lastly, and just been published:

Leviathan Falls: Book 9

All set 30 years after Babylon's Ashes (The last episode)

I would recommend following this reading order:
https://expanse.fandom.com/wiki/Category:The_Expan...

You've seen bits of the Strange Dogs novella already in the show, but it would be worth reading it all before starting book 7.

Im pretty certain someone will [pick this up for the last books,it was too good & popular for a sequel not to not be a success. No idea if the costs of the actors will mean they have to recast,(not too hard as they will have aged 3 decades)although I hope Drummer remains the same cloud9

Couldn't wait potentially a long time for Series 7, so...

I haven't read 1-6, but it did feel like I was able to pick up right where season 6 left off, bar of course the 30 year time jump. Alex is of course a noticeable difference.

Am jealous that you can binge the lot. Slows down too much at times but it's a brillant show and every character usually gets a chance to shine.
