Episode 948, Eddie Bravo at his absolute best. Flat earth talk, and NASA telling porkies. Even powerful young Jamie got into it with EB.

Thanks for the recommendation - I'll listen to this tomorrow as I'm going to be in the car quite a lot!

I was wondering last night, listening to the Abby Martin #950 podcast, what will JR do for his #1000 podcast? Maybe a massive Fight Companion with Joey Diaz included, or a live show like the election night, Comedy Store podcast. Needs to be a big one surely.

obama has a bit of spare time on his hands now hes not president!! although I dont imaine he'd be able to talk about all that much.

but i definitely think a big group effort like the 'election/ end of the world' podcast would be good. joey diaz, redban, young jamie, a few more of the usual suspects all smoking talking nonsense.... they make for a good show.

I was listening to a recent joey diaz one, and found myself laughing out loud in the car, his voice, his laugh, his stories..... always have me laughing away on my own.

I often listen to these live on YT in bed. Just tuned into this one and I have little clue what's going on hehe

Jordan Peterson was fantastic. His first one was good but he had to spend a large chunk of his time explaining what was going on with him at that time. This time he could talk more in general about his beliefs and go into detail about his version of psychology. I'd recommend watching a lecture or two of his from his YT channel.

Cracking Podcast, most of it way over my head, but fascinating none the less. Always interesting when Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson are on JRE. Only halfway through currently, but a great debate.

I'm halfway through now, I've read about this stuff for years, a lot of the stuff I know, some I don't. I do think Rogan was being accurate when he says SHermer is a sceptic for the sake of it. A lil muddying of the water there. Disingenuous.

I was thinking the same of Joe tbh, his constant need to be contrarian and argumentative hurts many of his interviews IMO.

I think that comes down to him willing to have conversations with people that he openly disagrees or disagreed with beforehand. Nothing wrong with a back and forth or him playing Devil's Advocate IMO, usually makes for a great podcast.

Playing Devil's Advocate is good, but the stuff that his sceptic colleague (leband?) was posting was bullst, as pointed out, and nothing to do with scepticism and everything to do with mud-throwing and obfuscation and slandering.
Edit, Shermer is wholly reasonable compared to the guy that comes on later, he clearly has issues and reminds me of a few from NPE, just never thinks he is wrong.

Agree with this.
Shermer seems reasonable and open to changing his position. Can't blame him for calling his 'expert' though as none of this stuff is his area of expertese.
But said expert seemed fairly inflexible and completely missed the point that Hancock is a journalist reporting on others' findings and merely offering his opinion on those findings, not portraying himself as an expert.

Watched a few.
Some youtuber called sargon, well up his own bum
And Josh Barnett, excellent, he's a fighter, and I wasn't gonna listen, but give him 5 mins and he was extremely funny, quick witted and knowledgeable.
