Matthew Walker is Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, and Founder and Director of the Center for Human Sleep Science.

Just brilliantly fascinating and one of my favourite JRE's ever. Set aside 2 hours and I promise you won't regret it.

Haven’t had much chance to consume podcasts lately, but I’ll give this one a listen over the weekend.

Seems to be missing from the iTunes podcast feed for some reason.

Strange.

x 1000 - been listening in the car and it’s incredible. JR is a great interviewer and MW articulates his knowledge really well. Some amazing facts about sleep too, and how we’re still learning about the importance.

Definitely having an early night!

It was broadcasted on Wednesday - it’s still on Apple podcast (not sure if that helps!)

Hour into the Matthew Walker one now, brilliant stuff. I used to sleep for 8 hours before having a child, 3 years in and maxing out at 6hrs tops I've absolutely noticed a change for the worse in many aspects of my life.

I actually prefer it when Joe is far enough outside of his general knowledge that he let's the guest crack on for the most part, just dropping in the sort of questions you'd think to ask anyway.

For the layman, he's an affable English sleep doctor, with an incredible knowledge and passion for his profession.

It was a great and informative listen.

I never realised quite how important sleep is to so many physical processes in the body.

As a three-shift worker and chronic under sleeper in my 20's, it certainly got me considering a career change!

Not a massive fan of Rogan or his opinions and attitudes - but he does get interesting guests and, by and large, lets them speak without too much interruption. In fact, Neil deGrasse Tyson said to him - please interrupt me as I think I'm talking too much.

Never realised we had a JR thread, been listening to him for some time driving or at work. That Mathew walker episode really alarmed me and made me make a couple of changes.

JR's really great at this kind of thing, he has a genuine passionate curiosity, thirst for knowledge and asks interesting and thought provoking questions, doesn't mind being told he's wrong and isn't afraid to challenge his guests if he thinks they are, all without letting his own ego get in the way of his guests story.
