For me even YouTube is becoming intolerable with the amount of adverts there are as they try and promote YouTube Premium more and more.

I suspect Joe can see the way all of these platforms are going and realises it's only a matter of time before they're all paid for in one way or another.

Given that, along with an offer of $100,000,000, you simply don't turn it down. Especially if they give you the same 100% creative freedom you've always had.

Smart move, don't hate the player, hate the game.
YouTube adverts are dictated by the channel. There's a few I watch who don't carry adverts, or if they do there's just one at the beginning. If you're sitting through a video and there's 6 adverts then that's the channel, not Youtube.
Whilst I agree it will be because the channels CPM won't be high to just have an advert shown s the beginning and end.

Doesn’t look good, but the problem with a clip is that we don’t see what is said afterwards.

It's what was said before. Joe Rogan said that the MSM is ignoring Joe Biden's (pretty obvious) dementia. That's a big unwelcome truth. So he's going to get cancelled next. They've been digging.

they've been after Joe for years, but haven't been able to make anything stick. Alt-Right-Adjacent is the best their feeble minds have been able to muster - because yes, simply talking to people is bad mmkay.

I wonder if spotify will cave to pressure - ultimately, "he sniggered at someone else's story" is a pretty lamentable charge but this is the side that has the favour of how things generally get reported, which (as you mention him) is why his sniggering at someones sexual misconduct is a big issue while evidence pertaining to Joe Biden's actual sexual assualt is quietly removed from public view.

The media and social media support of Biden (and the erasing of the very credible allegations of assault by him) are breathtaking in their hypocrisy.

Also, as Joe said, they just completely ignore the fact that he has demonstrated on many occasions that his mind is just not all there

Then there's all that creepy stuff with him sniffing and touching women, caught on camera many times.

But then, the name of the game is to just get him into power by any means possible - Biden won't be making any of the decisions, it'll be a bunch of shadowy, unelected neoliberal types. He'll be even more of a stooge than George W Bush was ... at least W still had his mental faculties, what little there was of them to begin with.

Joey Diaz throwing it right back at them it seems. Yeah he's a bit on the slovenly side and that's his shtick. Some of his stories, views on things and delivery of them are hilarious but some are a bit "whoah". But you know, no one's going to be funny a hundred percent of the time. But wow the Nu-Puritans - aren't they a salty bunch. "We came, we saw, he died" would be right up their alley.

After hearing the hype around Joe ROgam I listened to a few recently but just don't find them funny or entertaining. I guess its the American humour that doesn't appeal to me.

Which did you listen to his comedy or podcast. I don’t find his comedy stuff funny at all. But the podcasts I don’t have them down as comedy, what were you expecting?

I avoid the MMA ones and cherry pick experts and celebs I like or seem interesting. I can’t say I’m expecting comedy in interviews with experts on dark matter, psychology or the like. Maybe some general comedy you get with everyday conversations.

I find they are quite an informative way of learning about subjects I would never have looked at previously. Some are hit and miss but it’s opened my knowledge and understanding of a few things.

I would say I’m interested in about 40% of the podcasts but a few of them are gems and a lot of stuff I switch off.

Edit - I also avoid the American comedian ones as I don’t know who they are.

So I can see why you might have been expecting comedy on them.

I've just started listening to the Brian Cox interview which is interesting. I guess on a long car journey I can see the attraction to listening to them, but as you say you maybe have to search and pick out just certain ones?. But I admit to not having any experience of podcasts, not really knowing what they are or how folk access and use them. At 48 maybe I'm just a dinosaur? biggrin

So do folk listen to them on headphones as they are pottering about the house, in the background on a speaker, or on car journeys, or perhaps sit down and just sit & listen?

Mostly in the car.

Or lately, laying in the garden when the weather is nice.

My attention span/concentration is awful. So it’s in the car for my 3-4 hour journey twice a week. I only got into them as I couldn’t stand the same 4 songs on any radio station or constant brexit talks on the talkies.

I’ve tried listening while doing other stuff but other than painting and being stuck in the room I struggle.

But on a long journey I can get into a decent one. I mix it up with audio books and various other podcasts. Always on the lookout for new stuff. You can get fed up of the same podcast quite quickly.

like flumpo says Rogan is a mixed bag, you have the comedy, the Martial arts, and what we'll sling together as "other noteable people" all find a fan base. I tend to listen to the latter, I find Rogan very intellectually honest, in the sense he's keen to learn from the guest, not try to impress listeners himself, he can ask some good questions.

When, driving (do a lot in London), often have pods on at work too, unless its something I have to focus my mind on. Anything you can do that's not using all your brainpower i guess.

Did anyone hear what Alex Jones reckons about this

He reckons that YouTube has been dictating who JRE has on and the tipping point was them threatening to demonitise the channel if he had discussions about Coronovirus.

Mr Jones also said that JR had offered him as his first guest on Spotify and will give YouTube the difficult decision of whether to allow the JRE to stay on the platform .

Of course time will tell if this is just another Alex Jones "theory"

He's also claimed the government controls the weather, Hillary Clinton is running a child sex-trafficking business out of a pizza restaurant, the government stages multiple terrorist and lone gun attacks, and chemicals in the water are 'turning frogs gay'.

I don’t have a link, but I seem to remember joe putting out a comment to distance himself from what Jones said.

I have yet to see any concrete evidence proving crooked Hilary was NOT running a Paedophile ring from that pizza takeaway place.

Mmm, well there was the fact that it was supposedly happening from a basement and the building in question had actually had no basement...

This is the point Jones shouts 9/11, something about harp, screams something you can’t understand but can make out the word pizza.

Then says he has anti Covid vitamins nasa use.
