good series - interesting guy.
anyone who enjoyed the Nile series should read the book. the tragic events that happened on that trek are extremely well written - everything is in much more depth than a few hours of edited footage can show.
Got the book for my birthday last week, only a couple of chapters in but really looking forward to the rest of it. anyone who enjoyed the Nile series should read the book. the tragic events that happened on that trek are extremely well written - everything is in much more depth than a few hours of edited footage can show.
Will probably get the Himalayas book next.
His next series, "Walking the Weej" sees him take on his most challenging and dangerous route yet.
Starting in Drumchapel, his journey takes him through the wilds of Castlemilk and Govan, stopping in Partick to sample some of the local speciality brew "Boatle o Buckie".
Having lost his "jaiket" early on in the journey, at the risk of being "chibbed" if he refused to hand it over, Lev decides to try and blend in by wearing some national dress, or the "Kappa Trackie" as it is better known.
He samples some local delicacies, including the Greggs Steak Bake and learns some local phrases including "Get it right up ye ya rocket".
I would watch

Came across this yesterday by accident and immediately the missus and I were transfixed. This guy is awesome, the trek was exciting even a bit scary at times and agree I never ever thought Grozny would look like that! Looking forward to the rest of the series and will need to catch up on his previous walks.

With out using spoilers there are at least a couple of very scary moments in previous series.I'd have packed my case and gone home half way through the first and stayed in the Uk forever

Admittedly a couple of them were not optional
And interestingly, probably a lot to do with his training and experience, he appears to have the initial body language off pat such that apparently dangerous encounters miraculously turn into invitations to people's homes and hospitality! Respect.
