Ooh nice, Anthony Mackie taking over as Kovac. He’s a great actor unlike Joel Kinnaman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j75gM70k20

Looks like they are ignoring Broken Angels and going for the 3rd book Woken Furies instead.
Halfway through now. It's more like they're trying to mash both books together into one story, and although I'm enjoying it, I'm not wholly convinced it's working. Too many bits cherry picked from each book but losing much of their original context along the way. I honestly think it would be better viewing for those unfamiliar with the original novels.I may have read them a few too many times.
I agree it is a patchwork of story elements and I agree that the characters aren't quite as the books; but if looked at in isolation I thought it was fantastic viewing, and a great finale. In some ways I ended up thinking that it was good to have a different line, it's more a 'complimentary edition' rather than a copy. It also leaves the books to be discovered on their own merit, without being spoiled - and that, I would wholly recommend.
Nice one Netflix.
Yes, probably some of the few books I've read multiple times over the years

6 episodes down and I'm not really loving S2 to be honest.
I wouldn't say I LOVED S1, but it was very different and I was looking forward to S2 - This one is very darkly shot which I find a bit tiresome (Blade Runner, et al, have done it all before) and has seemed very heavy going at times...
The violence is either less extreme or I got desensitized to it in S1 - At times it was hard to watch S1, I found, nothing like that so far in S2.
I was a bit surprised that I had no recollection of a lot of the characters, either. I guess S1 didn't make as much of an impression on me as I recalled.
Episode 5 and 6 were the best, so far, for me - I felt they could have covered the first 4 in 2 (or even 1) episode and I nearly gave up on it...
I found the actor in S1 a bit robotic, but the new guy just seems, dare I say it, rather dull... I think I prefer the first one now!

Finished Ep 6 last night.
Little bit undecided about it, but on the whole it left me a little disappointed.
It seemed much less "focused" than S1. The story was all over the place.
Didn't believe Mackie as Kovacs. The "original" Kovacs (forget the actor's name) and Joel Kinnaman's just came across as more intense.
Agree about less violence, and what there was, was a little more cartoon-y. Also, less sex. If you read Morgan's books, there's always plenty of that floating around.
The only improvement was the greater airtime and story given to Poe.

Watched about 3 episodes and yep, enjoying it almost as much as the first. I will add to what another poster mentioned above though, much as some people maligned Kinnaman for his wooden acting, I thought it suited the character well and while Mackie is a better actor, it feels like he is too emotional and almost overacting at times. I've also noticed they've toned down the sex and violence a bit for some strange reason. I'm still enjoying it immensely but I think S1 just pips it for me.
Also agree Poe is excellent, by far the best thing in it so far.

New animie film called altered carbon resleeved out on netflix.
Looks like its going to fill in the blanks between season 1 and season 2.
Ooh looks interesting, thanks for the heads-up.Looks like its going to fill in the blanks between season 1 and season 2.
I've finished season two, I enjoyed it a lot but not as much as season one.
For some reason they've toned down the sex and violence which makes the world less gritty and dark. Everything else was very good otherwise but it felt a little less intense than season one, almost as if it was a slightly watered down version.
I struggled through S1 but finished it, and have given up on S2 just 3 episodes in. I think the acting is shonky and the story is all over the place. It doesn't help that there are no likeable characters, meaning I really don't care what happens to any of them.
It's good that people are enjoying it, but it's obviously not for me!
