Top Gear Presenters Announced...

I much prefer YouTubers these days, the likes of Mr JWW, Shmee, Seen through Glass and so on who just seem so much more enthusiastic about the cars they're driving and enjoy them for what they are, rather than bleating on endlessly about what they would have been if they were built in 1974. If Top Gear can capture that spirit and enthusiasm, I couldn't care who presents it.
Jesus, I couldn't think of anyone worse than those you mention, especially seenthroughglass who comes across as being completely and utterly clueless. Streetrod said:
In it I was asking which you tubers deserved to get more recognition for the good work they were doing and Rory Reid was at the top of my list. I even mentioned later in the thread that he could transition very easily into TV.
Hatie Hopkins and the rest of the DM readership insist it's because of PC ... they must be right Edited by RedAlfa on Thursday 11th February 14:55

Am I the only one who is disappointed to see The Stig is still part of the line up? Its great to have a real driver putting the cars through their paces but I'd rather it was someone who could actually speak, show emotion and give useful feedback too. (I could add that I'd like to hear the cars' engines as well rather than whatever The Stig has on his in car entertainment)
no you are not - a joke that was funny once or twice and has been flogged to death now, just boring so will continue to try to ignoreDanielSan said:

Never heard of the guy then Ibe just seen that YouTube link. I think he could be the big surprise from this, seems to be funny and a bit cheeky with his presenting, he could be the one who goes on to do big things http://youtu.be/GPzkTKX_EXI

I will confess to looking forward to the new TG - I don't think they'll sink it on it's first outing.

No. It's usually by the second or third episode of an Evans failure that the cracks begin to show, and the rug gets pulled by the fifth. If his wife appears at all in the first episode then prepare for the worst...

I think TG is in danger of being rather OK, actually. Rather than the Stig they should have brought in Tiffany as the decrepit racing driver, or something.

So Evans will be the new William Woollard to act as the anchor to introduce the clips made by the other people? Might work as it would keep his screen time to a minimum.
"Welcome to Top Gear, this week Joey from Friends has been test driving the Rover 214 Vitesse!" - runs the tape.
They did originally say that SIARPC was staying. So that's 15 mins of Evans interviewing a celeb plugging stuff. "Welcome to Top Gear, this week Joey from Friends has been test driving the Rover 214 Vitesse!" - runs the tape.
Lord, this is going to be dull. Schmidt, Jordon and the Stig are the only ones who really know about cars, with only Schmidt and the Stig as seasoned drivers. The rest should never have been hired. I wish Evans much luck with the show and strongly suggest he drops Harris and Joey, both are there to make up the 'too many' numbers. As for the new chap, Rory...time will tell.
Evans and the BBC have really missed a trick with the new TG, they had/have the opportunity to turn the show into something very special. That won't happen with the above line-up unless they start showing some super special reports. It may be that TG has ran its course and the BBC would have been better finding another subject for the Sunday evening timeslot.

Well thats all the boxes ticked by the souless cyphers to whom diversity and breadth means a measure of brown and white and lady people.
Really don't give it much hope myself, looks as bad as we feared.
well it wouldn't be PH if there wasn't any racist, sexist drivel. God forbid the Lady person can actually drive and the 'brown' guys are actually really creative, talented presenters...Really don't give it much hope myself, looks as bad as we feared.
Heres a concept that'd blow your mind if it only had the capacity to understand it, ever considered it's actually more inherently racist to think races need their own representation in everything? Considered that if you think we're all less able to empathise with and enjoy what the other races have to offer, that YOU'RE the racist, not me? Ever considered (you'd better cover the ears of the PC children here less they might start thinking for themselves) that a solitary culture production can have inherent value and power and artisic merit that a PC panel authorised medial would smother? Would NWA be better with a white dude, and would I be less of a racist for appreciating that more?

Evans doesn't know how to make good TV. He said so himself.tangerine_sedge said:
