Does the acting seem a bit stiff at times this season? Operating under Covid rules maybe? If so done well though.
LATimes interview with Titus Welliver and Michael Connelly from a few days ago. About the setup for the spin off series. Warning contains season 7 spoilers.

Just finished. Brilliant, very much up to it’s usual standard. One moan. Irving. I cannot stand his mannerism, or they way he carries himself. He is most unconvincing.
Ive felt the same pretty much from the start, It wasnt as bad in the first season but after that it all just feels so fake. Its hard to say what it is but like a sort of overacting or just unrealistic manner from someone in that position. The later series have had some themes that feel abit "were down the kids " new age type stuff, This seasons INCEL was a bit like that.
That aside it was a good final season and will miss it, Other than better call saul I cant think of many good spin offs from main shows so im not holding out much hope for whatever there doing after this.

For some reason, someone told the actor that he should use a rooster as the character baseline The later series have had some themes that feel abit "were down the kids " new age type stuff, This seasons INCEL was a bit like that.

The storyline above is as it ran in the books, just with a new label. It's really good to have the written canon for a showrunner.
Just finished, excellent series and now going to rewatch from S1E1.
Ep7 was the one that had us cheering in the aisles.
Nice one L.T.! Cooper was always a wrong 'un
Lance Reddick plays exactly the same character he did in The Wire and something else he was in. I won't repeat what my missus says about the way he walks, something about something still being stuck somewhere personal.
Reckon he carries the record for the most repeated line across the 7 seasons, "F***ing Bosch!" usually after a police involved shooting.

He always looks like he is about to jump into a dance routine, his swagger is straight out of a 70s Blaxploitation movie...!!Ep7 was the one that had us cheering in the aisles.

really enjoyed this last season - and I guess (to someone who's not read a single Bosch book) the denouement is not really a surprise given his antiauthoritarian stance.
Mrs DG and I have both thoroughly enjoyed the whole 7 seasons, not only because of Titus Welliver but the supporting cast too:
Crate and Barrel are fantastic.
Though the name Irvin Irving just grates I do like the actor (and yes this season he does seem spectacularly robotic in his movement)
Capt Cooper is a slimy bugger for sure
and Billets is another great character
What I do appreciate is that none of the characters feels like their in there as 'tokens' or as a preachy figure - everyone is (in my eyes at least) nicely rounded, has a purpose for the story (Star Trek: Discovery take note!!!!)

Mank another great character.
Just started watching season one again and they showed other watch commanders besides Mank but he's the best character of those.
One thing I found interesting is right from season 1 the portrayal of journalists from L.A. Times as sleazeballs just out for the scoop, yet Michael Connelly worked the crime desk at various papers until he did 3 years at the Times and finally quitting after a few Bosch books had been published.
