How much would a solid gold can weigh? And what would the value be if it was solid gold- more then £15k I'd bet.

They probably went on the collectors value at £15k, rather then the scrap value. But it does sound misleading...
Not solid gold can, a can made from pure gold not plated. When you advertise something that has led to millions more sales then palm it off as an admin error, well sharp practice really.

15k value collector item lol

Hi again. The conversation you wanted to have. What about the outstanding questions from days ago over all the threads?

Is it a conversation or just you ranting?

Sales increased by millions?

Well the BBC has picked the story up now and the ASA ate probing.

The actual real world value was 500 quid big leap to 15k. I know you are Brewdogs biggest fan but maybe take your blinkers off and actual think about why you are defending the company...

It was collector's value and the total cost of design and manufacture factored in. They were made by a very reputable company.
So if I buy a Dacia Duster it is actually worth a few hundred million if you factor in the cost of design and manufacture biggrin

Do they build only a few of them?

Car manufacturers will tell you some of their cars are worth £100k and you can buy them for 30-40% less. Should we get on to the ASA?

When you buy a bit of jewellery have you even tried to weigh it in for the value?

Brewdog advertised it as being made of solid gold.

It is not.

Unless you count a few microns thick as being solid.

Take the car analogy.
If Porsche said their new special edition of 6 cars - 911 Turbo had 800 BHP and you found it only had 80BHP.

I believe the owner of the can also got 10K worth of Brewdog shares.

Which ironically the owner has now devalued. biggrin

Not sure how that works, brewdog shares aren't public offerings so Brewdog determines price

Not quite - There are avenues to sell your shares independent of Brewdog, although with the latest attempts at shooting themselves in the foot I'm guessing the price isn't what it was a month or so ago.

Oh dear, how sad; never mind.

BrewDog pay out £500k to buy back cans
