I recognised the motor as being the one fitted to my 1960s era Scalextric cars (sadly neither running).

Now that I've seen what May did with his motor, I might have a go at refurbing the two 1966 era Scalextric cars I still have.

Also just watched it

The secret of these types of show for me are limited 'amateur dramatics' and an engaging host. Hence why I like Salvage Hunters but detest American Pickers and the like even though they are a similar concept

Looking forward to the next one.

Could definitely be longer for me. I thought they were an hour?

Has anyone else been searching ebay for grabbing screwdrivers and fibreglass pencils?

For me, that's a large part of the attraction of this series - and indeed the other stuff that he does.

I don't have much interest in Hornby Double O gauge trains (or many of the other things he has previously reassembled, for that matter) but his enthusiasm is infectious and, against the odds, he actually engaged my interest in what he was doing.

I thought it was a very good programme. He was going great guns with the "chuffing in your bedroom" comments !

It's a pity Hornby is now China's finest mind you.

Enjoying this one. He's the type of bloke you could have a good natter with down the pub about all sorts.

Something deeply satisfying about this show, yet it's so 'casually' put together..

As mentioned about the previous episode, I have no interest in the subject matter but am transfixed. It is such a good watch with the excellent James May.
