I'm not watching it, I really find Evans more than a touch irritating.

If you did, how did you feel about the new Top Gear?

I'm going in with a completely open mind. Looking forward to it, and will certainly cut them some slack as it's not an easy position to be in at first!

Absolutely.

My hope is that they stop with the cheap car saga storyline that plagued the last few episodes and actually test some current cars (even if not in a particularly scientific way).

In the Search of Driving Heaven from series 10 was my favourite TG episode and if they can replicate this kind of a thing, at least in part, then I'll continue to watch.

Evans trying to be Clarkson... Oh dear. New Top Gear trying to be Old Top Gear... Oh dear.

So far I'd rate it as poor. Evans is too loud and the audience response looks far too scripted. I'm looking for a guy with a board with "applause" on it.

I'm astonished same sets same seats same everything really.
But Chris Evans he just seems like he is trying way too hard He comes across way too exciteable and animated for me But there is ZERO chemistry between him and Matt Le Blanc who just seems to just be reading from his lines. Then again Le Blancs obvious joy at being in the off roader is clear to see. Perhaps that's the problem - good segments poor studio links and sections ?
Do like the use of the mini as the reasonably priced car and the new track layout is good. Very good in fact

5/10

The rally cross bit is the best part - pity the guests are pretty dire.

Only comparison I can make so far is that it's Two and a Half Men with Ashton Kutcher when you're used to watching Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen.
