Going to be interesting to see a breakdown of that - absolutely loads going on.

Seems BD is being setup as Azor Ahai (assuming the flames aren't a trick as they were for Stannis). Awesome.

I did wonder but you never quite know on this show do you!!

Get him all hyped up as AA and then he gets slammed down by roboMountain (again) or something similar.

Thoros of Myr was always mentioned as leading the attack on the Iron born during the Greyjoy's Rebellion with his flaming sword but Beric also had a flaming sword when he fought the Hound

Yes. Thoros' sword was a trick using wildfire, but Berics sword was lit using his own blood when he fought the Hound

I do not adhere to the AA prophecy in the books, there is no such thing as prophecy, but in the show, it may well be as it's more formulaic.

But the thing about AA, he has to kill his true love to become it.

It's a tad ambiguous

Stannis has been set up to be a leader in a prophecy both book and show, but it was only named last series as the Prince that was Promised. There are three nebulous 'chosen one' (ha) prophecies in the books, AA, TPTWP and TLH. They may all be the same or they may not, I think in the books they don't exist actually exist beyond made up stories to influence and cajole people into doing stuff.
In the show they have kept the names to a minimum, Stannis fits AA best, but AA may be TPTWP

There
That should make crystal opaque in comparison

In the trailers, the Ranger/Wildling party north of the wall appear to be carrying spears with dragon glass points.

Also Jamie and Bronn can be seen behind the Lannister Archers who seem to be shooting up (massacring?) the Unsullied.

Anybody else spotted anything interesting in the trailers?

Yeah, show Mel thinks or thought, Stan the MAn was the chosen one, whatever name you wanna use. Or maybe Show Mel is as complex as Book Mel, book Mel is bit of a faker, she does have some nebulous abilities, but a lot of it is like a magician, sleight of hand. Book Mel doesn't make any predications with great accuracy. Book Mel basically chose someone, and if you pick the right person, you can make the prophecy.
Now SHow Mel might be the same, there was that interesting lil scene 'twixt Mel and Stan's wife way back in whatever season...also the only other scene where she didn't wear her ruby necklace, and she admitted people see want they want to see a lot of the time? Humans fool themselves.

A slightly longer different cut of that trailer here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mlhnt0jMlg - Interesting choice of voiceover actor, starting at 45 seconds in

You've not been to Newcastle then? wink
I adhere to the theory that that was all Stannis and his latent ability, which Mel was able to cox out of him. Certain families.

AA = Azhoi Ahai, a bloke with a flaming sword, pretty good bloke with a flaming sword till he has a crisis of confidence
TLH = The Last Hero, a final hero, a pretty good last hero till he has a crisis of confidence
TPTWP = The Prince that was promised, a pretty good prince that was promised, till he has a crisis of confidence
