One thing that did occur to me though is is really a good idea to keep Ser Friendzone somewhere where he could easily grab a passerby?

I still can't see Jim Broadbent in a historical setting without expecting him to be a spanish translator - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9T-LxE4Pr3Q

I have to say i am slightly underwhelmed. I would have thought with just seven episodes things would need to whip along, but they didn't.

Last series is a tough act to follow I guess.

6.5/10

Likewise, it wasn't awful and some of the dialogue had me chuckling a little but, it was really just a scene seeing episode to get us caught up with all the major players.

The appearance of the ginger crooner just irritated me, I thought got was a bit above celebrity cameos like that.

Thought it was a really good opener, moved at a fast pace and did a good job at summarising what's happened so far whilst showing what's at stake for the various parties. One thing that did occur to me though is is really a good idea to keep Ser Friendzone somewhere where he could easily grab a passerby?
One of the quickest hours of TV I can remember watching for a while.

In S4 they did it right, some pop band played the Reynes of Castermere at the wedding. Didn't detract from the scene and it was a good rendition.

Sigur Rós portrayed the musicians in "The Lion and the Rose". They have also recorded a version of "The Rains of Castamere".

I enjoyed it.
Good opener, sussed it was poison early in the scene but didn't get a Arya connection until towards the end of the speech. Disappointed Ed didn't get off'd as part of her murder tour but I did think this was a 'look, not all Lannister are evil' scene.
Hound rocks as always.
All of Danys lot now rocking skin tight leather?
Sam scenes still tedious.

Wait... if you thought it wasn't Arya from the start of the scene then who did you think it was? They literally spelled it out in the opening scenes biggrin.

The bit with Sam the bedpans, cleaning and food dish banging, brushing and tap water sound effects I thought was going to break out into a bit of Pink Floyd's Money.

Made me think of a kids tv show engineering sound, I can here it in my head, like, 'shersh-shersh, sher-ker-per'...can't recall if it's Bertha or Ivor the Engine.

Ha! I can still remember the way my dad used to make the Ivor the engine noises when reading to me as a kid!

Mainly reminded me of what Hell is like in Preacher, especially the quick-cut repeat.

Although I'd recorded it on Sky, I watched the US version, which had a brief recap of the last series at the beginning.

Great start, don't fk with Arya, Hound is a funny and a great character, second half a bit slow.
