When do people start posting spoilers in here? How long after an episode? I plan on waiting until the series is complete and then binge watching.

People never post spoilers in here.

To be clear. Discussion of an episode is not a spoiler as soon as that episode has aired in the UK.

I very much enjoyed, however I did find everyone's new favourite Lannister footsoldier to be a major clang.
I had no idea who that was when I watched it. Though once the chat started, I did think to myself, they had merely cast him to sing, must be a st actor 'cas all the dialogue was split among two others.
Then I saw something today that said he was a singer. hehe
He also starred in "The bd Executioner" as well, programme itself if worth watching but its nowhere near as good as GOT, Vikings etc.

Does anyone know why Dragonstone was empty?

Seems like it's be a pretty sweet place to have occupied.

It was Stannis' in the early seasons, it's where he tried to invade King's Landing from with ships. I guess the large houses were occupied with the capital and their own kingdoms to make a play for it. The smaller houses in the region probably didn't have the means to get to the island and take supplies there regularly.

Guess work on my part, but someone with book knowledge might have a definitive answer.

Best one-liner ever
As a bald man, it really put me off growing a top-knot.

Opening scene was fantastic, at first I thought it was a recap, then realised what was going on.

Hound, amazing lines.

Sansa, getting hotter.

Dany, not enough screen time but ready to kick ass.

The whole thing goes down a little differently in the book, as there was a battle there where Ser Loras was injured.

I liked the first episode, it was really well written and acted - above the usual high standard they set themselves.

I'd have liked to have seen a few randoms just legging it out of the gates when the dragons appeared and Daenys just let them go, rather than a completely empty fort.

Watched it on NowTV so no ads, it seemed to be over in 10 mins.

Enjoyed it so much, opening scene was awesome, I was a bit confused - I was sure that geezer was already dead...

Ed Sheeran - why? I sort of expected another band of young and stupid solders to try to get a bit rough with Arya and regret it, for about 2 seconds, but no - a nice little chat around the fire.

The Hound stole the show though, watched a little of Thronecast afterwards which reminded me of his history at the house.

He has four sorts of vids; he looks at the shows, he does theories on the books, he goes through the advance chapters of WoW line by line and he reviews GRR's vast back catalogue to point out where his theories/connections come from. His thoughts have astounded me on the story.
I'd probably say, go through the 'what are you misisng' stuff from the show, starts at S1E1.

and

The faceless men.

His big picture theory, Dorne, Ironborn and the rest will blow your mind. biggrin

It shouldn't have been, Lords don't leave castles empty, especially one's as prestigious as DS. They have a system of leaving a Castellan, this was Roderick for Winterfell, but the show has either forgotten this or decided it was too much effort to do it that way. Also didn't like how Yoyce John advised to raze the Karstark/Umber castles, that makes no sense, castles are the most valued/wealthy items in the kingdom, one wouldn't destroy 2/3 for no reason.

Chrissy The Frog's Wild Speculation #259

Dany meets Cersei in Kings Landing

Cersei feels safe with The Mountain by her side.

One of Dany's dragons comes out of nowhere and eat's The Mountain.

(also means The Hound must lose 'Cleganebowl' - if it happens)

Point Of Order:

How is Sam going to tell Jon Snow about Dragonstone exactly?

Yes, I get it'll be by 'homing raven' but then for a bird to fly home to where Jon is it must have come from there in the first place. Sam didn't bring a bunch homing ravens with him did he?

THat's the case with all places. The Citadel has some sort of raven replacement service that is constantly going on in the background, like the royal mail. biggrin

I don't think there has ever been a suggestion they are "homing" ravens as much as they are somehow magical?

I thought this, but then it was no secret Dany's fleet was approaching, so you'd assume anyone who'd been occupying Dragonstone decided to make themselves scarce before she arrived?

Enjoyed the episode but felt it lacked a bit of depth as it was trying to cover everything. Saying that I would have moaned if it didn't.

Feel they could have got an 'oh fk' moment in every episode given it's only 7 long though.

Did anyone find the quality better? Previous seasons have not only been too dark, but fairly average on quality. This one seemed much better..

Wasn't that Storms End rather than Dragonstone?
