Going 'back' to episode 5, have we seen the stage set for a Clegane reunion? (assuming the Hound survives going beyond the wall and goes to KL with the rest of the group who went to try and catch a White to show Cersei)
Didnt even think of that!

So hope Cleganebowl happens this season!

No chance. Bound to be a cliff hanger for next season.

I fear it has turned into a fan appeasing wk fest, and the depth that I loved throughout is being dumped for special effects and backward character development.

I just hope it doesn't turn out to be as empty as the endless stream of superhero movies we are now plagued with - but without JRRM, it certainly seems the way we are heading.

Hope I'm wrong after investing so much time into watching these.

Going off the season trailer I think we may well. There's a tiny clip here that makes me think it-

For those that have not watched episode 6 yet Sky are showing trailers for it showing quite a bit of what happens. Watch the leaked copy if I were you.

Probably a good idea to avoid all episode trailers IMO. I have up to now and been all the better for it.

My thoughts exactly, I probably shouldn't say anything else as I may spoil things for those who haven't seen the leaked episode, but it is just pure Hollywood.

As is plot gold (or Italian Job gold, as I like to call it), judging by the amount that was in the wagon when Jaime paid Bron. Either that, or GOT horses are prodigiously strong. smile

Not in the slightest, was merely channelling my inner Clegane...

Well, unless the cap fits of course!

We shall see.
Makes me wonder if they'll change anything if the WoW are releasd soon. They do like to change things on the fly if public opinion goes against them

Mine too. This series has taken a major downturn in depth and quality, it's like they are rushing through scenes ticking boxes and adding in completely implausible illogical events in order to further plot and keep people alive.

If the first series had been like this I probably wouldn't still be watching now. It's Hollywood lightweight stuff.

I've just rewatched the entire series of Preston's vids on Dorne, Deeper Dorne, Dorne Master plan and the two others. And a few things popped into my head.

The first was how curious elements of the Dorne story might tie to to S7E5. The other was obsidian. Have we discussed why Benjen has autonomy? We found out (show canon) that the Walkers were created by obsidian, did someone here reckon Benjen was given autonomy by sticking more obsidian in him? What if obsidian did that to wights? Or shut them down by severing the link 'twixt them and the headmaster?

edit. biggrin
Preston wonder where the other Brothers are biggrin

Having watched the leaked episode I have to agree, it was a real drop in the 'intelligence' of the show and had some aspects that were ridiculously unbelieable.

I think it's a shame how the quality of plot (not effects or action) has dropped, it's corny and rushed now. If I hadn't invested 6 seasons already I'd drop it now.

This raises some interesting questions for me.

The white King broke Bran's control north of the wall.
Perhaps Bran can do the same south of the wall.

Is there something special (greenseers, warging etc) about Crastor's sons that made them desirable to the White King? This would limit the number of WW he could make, rather than capturing lots of wildling babies.

If so, then Gilly's son would also be special and perhaps have a roll to play in the outcome.

I'm not sure if the wall is anything more than a physical barrier, though in the book, Coldhands (the book version of Benjen) does say he cannot travel south or through the wall. In both book/show two wights were dragged through the wall and reanimated. How did that work? So many questions.
Crastor's sons are bds, and incestuous bds too, so that make them extra special. Gilly's son was targeted for a kidnapping and most likely a life as a white walker before Sam the slayer did his thing. In the back story to the books, the Targ queen who flew to the wall ended the 'Lord's Right', whereby a lord could shag a bride before her weeding to a commoner. This stopped the flow of bds to the wall.

edit, this covers the chat on the wight/wall issue
