Does wearing a taller person's face make you taller too? How would Arya pretend to be 6 foot Littlefinger when she's 4 feet 10? It's all getting a bit Blackadder, when he tries to pretend he's Lord Farrow with a bag on his head.
Have you watched the show much? It's not just dressing up, it's magic like all the other magic. Watch the first scene in Season 7 again.
Yeah, since the first broadcast of the first episode of the first series, thanks for asking.

It's a very involved plot and storyline, and you'll forgive me if I haven't absorbed every single detail as obsessively as some, and treat it as a form of light entertainment after a day's work rather than a life and death necessity.

"Magic" is the answer I was looking for, so thanks for that. I have already forgotten what happened in the first scene of this series, so perhaps I will have a recap.

This thing I find most difficult to keep track of is the peripheral characters who seem to disappear and reappear with several series in between (Gendry, Benjen etc). Spread over 6/7 years of real life getting in the way and doing other things with my brain, GoT stuff falls out. The bit about the pointy mountain and the Children of the Forest above is a good example - I have no recollection of this and yet I know I've watched every episode of every series. This thread is helpful to keep track, so thanks to those with better memories etc for these nuggets.

If ever a show benefited from re-watching, it's this.

When they sent Gendry off for the marathon I was half expecting to not see him for another four seasons.

Out of interest, how did the ravens and dragons achieve warp speed? irked

A good episode on the surface but it's starting to look very sloppy when you look a little deeper frown
They took off from a conveyor belt of course.

Not to mention the whole 'come with me' 'there's no time' lines.

Eh? They had time to have a chat about it but not time for him to just jump on the horse and go? Righto.

It's all got really Hollywood and you can tell they no longer have book dialogue to work from, the scene on the boat with Jon and Dany was really cringeworthy.
Two people might make for a slow horse though, and the undead seem pretty quick, look at how quickly they got past and encircled Jon & Co.

I would have liked to have seen Viserion's change happen under water, in the darkness a barely recognisable dark shape, then the blue light up the darkness.

The chains were odd to have available on first watch but if the army is a big as it is then there might be chains being transported by the giants or dead mammoths that were to be used to pull down any gates to Eastwatch or Castle Black if the sea isn't frozen. The Night King has planned this for a while and won't just march on a vast ice wall he can't get through. But now he has a Dragon to melt the wall.

That is much better! Email the producers!

The chains, I don't get why people are agitated by this, they took Hardholme, and Hardholme had ships was a dock, there should be plenty of chains around.

It's fair to argue, given what the Night King can do (mentally and physically), he used the men as bait to nab a dragon or two and came prepared.

Did anyone else spot the eyes on Longclaw's wolf head pommel turn blue? What was that about?

Loads online about it - apparently the eye opens when Jorah gives it back to Jon, then when it's lying on the ice waiting for Jon to become the ice swimming champion the eye turns blue...

I didn't see it, but lots are positing that it is somehow Longclaw turning into Lightbringer.

Or could just be grasping at straws.

I think it's just reflections

It is!

Plus, it's another example of time moving on, i.e. It's days/weeks later that Visy is raised, not the same day!

Yeah, because the ice is clearly fresh and unbroken.

They had to get down there to chain him to drag him up...

And we've already seen inconsistencies in the wights ability to deal with water wink

I was agreeing, the ice had reformed. biggrin

THe wights had some sort of autonomy in the fight, so I don't mind about them either swimming or not, just depends if they could swim in their previous lives I reckon. Beric says some memories come back, some don't.

I think GRRM used Medieval times to reflect the attitudes, fashion, weapons and ships. With that in mind, no iron chains, less so studded iron chains would have been used by ships, even as late as the early 19th Century, rope was used for many applications, including anchor raising.

But, this is all fantasy, I guess - but rope would have been more 'believable' for raising the dragon.

Look, the Night King got some dead dolphins to do it for him, OK?

Sheesh.

Are we considering the E8 teaser to a spoiler to not posted at all, or is wrapping it in a tag sufficient?

Why are some people and places seemingly arbitrarily given initials and some not?

I'm already in trouble with the missus for "Wilfully" failing to know everybody's back story, family tree and political leanings, and it becomes a little tiresome to come in here and have to decipher every other post to work out who NK, KL, LF and so on is.

One thought, will the "dead" dragon still breath fire? Or will this turn to ice as its primary weapon?

To avoid typing the same thing.
Littlefinger
NightKing
Kings Landing

Ser Friendzone is a good one as well. It's tricky when some characters have many names/titles and it's not always clear who is who. To core we know but others get nicknames.
