Found it, Stannis hired the Stormcrows, 500 mounted soildiers - http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Stormcrows and in the book they are ones Daario Naharis is a member of and were hired to fight alongside the Second Sons at Yunkai.

What a stunning series, make a lot of other stuff on TV look ste by comparison.

The penultimate episodes of all the series are some of the best tv ever seen imho. and this series was no exception.

its criminal that we have to wait so long....

I wonder if there will be any spin offs.....

"the Jon and Daeny chronicles...." I have visions of Cat and Alfie....

There's currently 5 prequels under development (4 advanced and 1 just started) but D&D have said that none will include characters from the current GoT cast, which means no Roberts rebellion etc so I think they might include the Rise of Targaryens (Aegon's Conquest) etc.

For those who fave characters might be, Varys or Lf, there is right now on BBC2 the real life versions of these types, in Elizabeth's 1 Secret Agents.

There's currently on BBC Iplayer a 3 part serial on the Gunpowder plot starring Kit Harington) OK it's not GoT) but it's actually pretty good and those who like Jon Snow might get a kick out of seeing him in another medieval type part.

Aegon's Conquest would be mega, but they need to have a sizable budget to really do it justice.

From the way the hype has built from the 1st episode of GoT to the last I'm guessed getting a big budget for the prequel (which would also be heavily hyped by TV companies) shouldn't be a problem, as long it sticks to GoT style writting, performances etc and doesn't go off the rails.

I hope they don't do anything that requires a large budget.
The people currently in charge seem to have forgotten what lifted GoT like a colossus from amongst its peers.

I'd quite like Dunk and Egg stories, or maybe stories between the Stark and the Bolton kings.

Yeah the GoT "style" seemed to run out of steam by the end of season 4 or maybe just by the middle of season 5 which is where the "TV writers" took over from G.R.R and the depth of the stories became less involved in characters and more about "lets rush to the end!!!"

I know the opening titles sequences with the model cities are CGI - but has anyone made a working physical model? Could it be done?

If you look at my Songexploder link above, there's a link to how the title sequence was made
They made actual working models to help the CGI renderers.
