I thought Sam's suggestion of a democracy was a nice touch. But Yara Greyjoy joining in the derisive laughter seemed a little incongruous since the Iron Islands do indeed vote for their monarch.
I thought that was pretty cringey, but not as bad as the hand scene around he table...
Pretty disappointing end to it all overall for me.

What book? We may get The Winds of Winter but to produce A Dream Of Spring GRRM will need to live to 90+
I'd be willing to bet (and I don't bet) that WoW is pretty much finished, and has been for some time. The dilemma to fix the reversal on the 5 year gap is what helped prolong him first and then the show exploded.

She sailed off into the sunset. She literally sailed off, westwards, into the sunset.

What a bag o' ste.

Did anybody feel even the slightest emotional connection with anything that happened in that episode?

Still, it's over and done with now. I actually enjoyed the rest of the season. Sure it wasn't as good as it was for the most part but it was better than the dragon icing episode, so it could have been worse.
I felt sad for Tyrion finding his siblings dead.

I actually thought it was awesome until just after the stab where it seemed to become the Jeremy Corbyn tea and biscuits ending. Everything afterwards may has well have not been filmed as I think I'd have been better off not knowing.

I'm not too fussed about a lot of the desires for neat plot endings (like last episode I'd have been perfectly happy for the Hound to just grow old on a farm somewhere), but it looks to me like they just replaced one Queen they didn't really want with someone that noone really hated or wanted either. They made a big deal over Bran not having kids, when they had literally just killed a barren Queen who was going to remake everything.

If you remember, the last time the king of the seven kingdoms died, it sparked a war between five houses. Ned should have just sat them all down and asked them to pick a successor.

TBH, had Dany burned the red keep to the ground, spared the city and lived happily ever after with King Jon (and that awesome scene where the army is standing to attention before her), I think even that would have been more satisfying.

He’s only just released his 500years previous book so to then release Series 5&6 tv equivalent and then s7&8 is a big ask.

Maybe £ from Home Box Office will stop him releasing them

The dragon fked off with Dany, how does anyone know Jon stabbed her?

Bran who "doesn't want" wants to be king.

Jon is banished north, then people who banish him fk off anyway.

The rapey/pillagey Dothraki just chill out in KL and get steady jobs & settle down I'm guessing.

Tyrion the prisoner gets to dictate how kings are chosen.

I really feel this season has tainted the shows legacy. Prior to this I was all ready to buy them in 4K and enjoy them all again, but now I know that a vast majority of the earlier story arcs lead to fk all there's no point. The writing stinks of a child that got bored of a toy and threw it in the corner to go and play with their new one.

Still, at least the petition to re-write season 8 is gathering pace.

If you’ve got Sky which I assume you do why not download them all now for free and save to your 2TB skyQ box. Keep it for as long as you want.

No cost no risk

Was so random when they took tyrion and there was brand sansa etc etc..i really thought i had missed a whole episode lol

The dragon deserves credit he knew what was right..get rid of the damn throne thats what it all about

Tyrion is still my favourite since first time i seen him..he holds it all together
Maybe Drogon thought the throne had stabbed Dani to death so burned it to the ground in anger...

Also a reference to him saying the history of the post-king-Bobby-B wars should have a snappier title when he's working in the library.

No, he knew Bran 9k would be king and so turned it into an iron ramp.

Jon can be King in the North (true North) and take however many red headed Wildings he likes as his Queen, or Tormond.
I believe it would be Tormond who takes him

Thinking about it, had Drogon burned Jon to death where he stood it would have been no worse an ending, and given the unsullied a reason to look outwards for guidance and added a bit of mystery/ legend/ tragedy to their history (so a better ending).

D&D will be perfect for Star Wars, they've honed their "throw away years of lore and abandon good storytelling for no obvious reason" skills to just about the perfect level to step up to The Force Awakens. How can it take two years to make six episodes of that garbage.

Its 4K not 9k - but HBO have not released it in UHD yet so don’t worry.

Should have ended by fading to black when the fire was in drogon's throat.

Everything after that reeked of teeing up spin off series. "Look Ma! I have 3 to shoose from!!!one1!"

If it needed to persist, then it should not have been the prisoner naming the king. That's just silly.

If you're moaning, might as well add in that people who have lived in deserts / frozen wastes are now mariners. "Set sail for Narth." "Aye, captain. I totally know where that is and how to get there because we met a bird who was born there but became a slave as a toddler. Her anecdotes were sufficient to imprint charts into my mind despite my prior training all being about wearing leather and nipple torture."

The shipbuilding capability of the iron islands (devoid of trees) can replenish ships more quickly than the USA at the height of WW2. Maybe they used reclaimed wood like the posh / alternative shop in town. That must be why the vessels looked all weathered despite being made in the last month. Would look lovely next to some chalk paint from farrow and ball.

90 minutes after the battle (as the main characters are still in shock), the entire North army, and all but 1 survivors have fked right off. It's almost like it was a bank holiday and the extras didn't come in. Not the stormtroopers though. They are all present, correct and ready to perfectly hit sticks in time in their clean, ash free fetishwear.

Speaking of ash, it's raining ash hard enough to look like snow. There's an inch of ste on the sleeping dragon. None on Darth Dany and Jon bi one snownobi tho, not even in their hair. You can tell they smoke woodbines because not once did they cough whilst inhaling air 1970's Hartlepool would be proud of. Hard, these Northern men.

Could be worse though. Total noncombatants like Captain Phasma and CRUSHING fkING STARE could warp into the show via some form of magic. Good job they did, otherwise who would edit wikipedia? It's important that the stories / history of everything is accurwtr and oreserved.

All hail the king! The people will support him because the writers have given him the personality traits of someone with borderline asbergers. Keep him away from an American school and AR15's and it'll be the most peaceful reign since Chamberlain.
