The BBC and its utter obsession with the Olympics.
Discussion
The BBC seems to have lost the plot. Olympics all evening on BBC1 and or BBC 2. And then you look at the BBnpC news website and its full spread Olympics all over. Not even the sport page, but the News headlines page.
I think they by far overestimate people's real intrest in the games. Blanket coverage of someone's obscure sports is a npbit much in my view.
I'll watch most sports all day long, but all the other members of the family couldn't really give a hoot.
The BBC should put this on one of their fringe channels.
Now, when's the men's fencing on?

I love it to be honest. Two weeks every 4 years to engross yourself in random sports. And because they're not football we're often quite good at them :-)
I watched the team archery final last night, the Koreans brought their a - game and made the Americans look like amateurs!
As a sport fan I can agree. But most people aren't. Ok you'll usually have one event that you might be interested in, but not this wall to wall. I watched the team archery final last night, the Koreans brought their a - game and made the Americans look like amateurs!

well, hopefully it moves their obsession on from brexit, itself moved on from their glastonbury obsession, itself moved on from chelsea flower show etc etc
And cooking.And cake in particular.
Unfortunately wall to wall Clare balding....
At least Kate Humble hasn't been wheeled out again for another subject she's apparently always been hugely interested, excited and enthusiast about.
It's a couple of weeks though every four years.
But like any big event they cover, they treat it as though literally everyone is very very excited it's on.
My worst times are the Euros or World Cup... If I watch more than 5mins of either, it's too much. But very hard to avoid as its shoved down people's throats.

I dont see the issue. In today's world of multiple channels, freeview, sky, box sets, films im sure you can find something else to watch.
Its one of the last free sporting events on TV, and with a multitude of sports they are trying to cover as much as possible. Also its a great way to introduce people to sports that they might never have tried or even heard of before.
