I enjoyed it very much. Everyone (-ish) has heard of the event, which makes every subsequent marathon seem a bit tame , but I had forgotten that it only had five entrants.Which sort of adds to the legend .

Millionaires drive stripped out, state off the art cars with double digit horsepower engines , 9,300 miles in a no rules race to win a Magnum of Champagne.
What, between 10 & 99bhp? When will this madness end?

For sciency podcasts:

I'm enjoying Hannah Fry's Uncharted series https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001qw8x

Naturebang covers some interesting topics but it's a bit dumbed down and the presenters are rather annoying, with about 5 minutes of content in a 15 minute podcast. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00060x0/episodes...

I'm enjoying The Presidents Daily Brief.

https://open.spotify.com/show/6VpV9ZlbQTzMngKilhJl...

Got turned on to it from Joe Rogan as Mike Baker is a regular guest, and always worth a listen in my opinion.

Hello. Late to this thread, so forgive any repetition (I’ve read back through 10 pages): recommended F1 podcasts, please? There seem to be many, and I don’t have time to wade through them all! hehe

Bring Back V10s is superb. Very much my era. I don't even watch F1 anymore (stopped this year for one reason or another). I still follow it though.

I expect The Race do a good F1 podcast, as Bring Back V10s is from them/affiliated with them, and their MotoGP podcast is very good.

F1 Beyond the Grid is good too.

Yes, bring back V10s is great, and 'The Race' is basically the same bunch of people doing current F1 events.

Beyond The Grid has some utterly spellbinding ones as well. Hell even Bernie Collins' from just the other week was great. I also loved the Ross Brawn Motorsport Magazine one about selling Brawn GP, The Brackley Boys one and anything with Alistair Caldwell (there's been a few).

Try the Motor Sport magazine pods too - some excellent stuff including (but thankfully not limited to) F1

The Joe Marler podcast where he interviews very normal people is a great one.

Is it just me or has there been a massive shift in podcasts since lockdown?

When did podcasters and YouTubers become philosophical, mental health, business, sexual health and all-round experts in everything? Patrick Bet David came on, never heard of him but had a catching title. Googled him and while he's obviously successful I have never heard as much BS in my life. It was like listening to the old boy down the pub after 8 pints - but worse.

Maybe need a refresh of my playlist so will check out some of the recommendations on this thread.

The biggest early podcasters in the USA from 10 years ago were all business and health, it's where the money is I guess for ads.

UK podcast scene was a bit slower off the mark, and it was more of a hobby and less cut throat for most podcasters as the big market wasn't there to make business out of it

In someways it has been a massive shift for the better in terms of getting the content you enjoy - and actually giving certain people a platform.

However, I have also noticed friends commenting "You should watch XYZ.. he really knows his stuff.." Just on the basis of high production values - when the content / subject matter can be somewhat 'problematic' to put it diplomatically.

I listen to the radio version - the science stuff is good but the laboured, first year at university geek 'humour' is toe curling
