Try The Nerdist. Very similar to the Adam Buxton ones but based in America. Some absolutely amazing guests including Cruise, Cumberbatch and Cleese and that's just the Cs!

I’ve been enjoying Reasons to be Cheerful, hosted by Ed Miliband and Geoff Lloyd.

Miliband is strangely rather amusing and the topics are genuinely interesting. The idea of the show is about new ideas and trends and most of the time it’s been very good.

I'd recommend Motoring Podcast if you haven't already tried it - https://www.motoringpodcast.com Good for news on what's going on in the motoring world and interviews with motoring related people.

BBC iPlayer so not really a podcast, and not currently available, but Women Talking About Cars is oddly entertaining.

Any more recommendations anyone?

I've just started with podcasts and trying to find a few options

I like sports stuff especially with related banter, looking for science ones maybe?

been listening to Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy - that's pretty good
Also The Grade Cricketer - Aussie based cricket one, funny if you like the Aussie sense of humour
I tried Flats and Shanks but it was boring, surprisingly

Going to try the infinite monkey cage after reading this thread

Probably already mentioned but for science try The Life Scientific, More or Less, and Little Atoms.

Boring talks is surprisingly interesting.

Festival Of The Spoken Nerd have just done a 4 parter for radio 4 called Domestic Science, not sure if it'll be available as a podcast but episode 1 is on iPlayer.

Apart from the much mentioned Wittertainment (HTJI!) I heartily recommend Judge John Hodgman. Cases between litigants that many would consider "petty" but which actually make for very entertaining listening.

Got into a few more in the last few weeks:

Unfiltered with James O'Brien; I don't listen to his radio show but the interviews he's done on this new podcast a really, really interesting and informative.
2 Dope Queens; I'm a big fan of Jessica Williams from her Daily Show days; this is a kind of stand-up comedy podcast with her best friend and every episode they have 2-3 comedians come on and do a 10 minute set.
The Butterfly Effect (Jon Ronson); documentary maker Jon Ronson looks into the rise of free-to-find online pornography and the butterfly effect it has had on the industry. Very interesting and not as smutty as my description makes out.

Will try the Jon Ronson one, have always enjoyed him on the other podcasts he's been on.

Missed Apex For Formula One

Casefile Yeah I've recommended it before but you really shouldn't miss out on their three part serials on The Original Night Stalker/East Area Rapist, Jonestown and the latest-The Silk Road. Fascinating!

The Football Ramble is good if you like a slightly less serious look at things, it’s worth listening to past episodes aswell as there’s references to older stuff sometimes that won’t necessarily make sense. It’s all funny though so the back catalogue is worth a listen.

Think most of my 'go to' podcasts have been listed, I'm having to get a bit picky on what ones I download now as even with a long (1 hour) commute there's too many to listen to each week! Especially that Joe Regan one clocking in at 3 hours.
Few more from my list -
Answer me this - a couple answering listeners questions
Desert Island Discs
Most Notorious - interviews with crime writers about specific crimes
Myths and Legends - the original stories from folk tales, myths, and uhh, legends
No dumb questions - haven't actually listened to this one yet but it's Destin from the Smarter Every Day Youtube channel so probably good...
Soundtracking with Edith Bowman - talking about the music from films
The Art of Manliness - don't laugh, they have some interesting discussions and interviews!
The History of Rome - about 300 30 minute episodes charting the history of the Roman empire
A few more to add to my list
A-Z of Punk on 6 music
The digital human - Radio 4 program exploring the digital world
Distraction pieces with Scroobius Pip - long (1 hour) interviews with actors, comedians, etc.
Fictional - from the same guy who does myths and legends, it tells fictional stories in a modern way. This week it was The Count of Monte Cristo, there have been Sherlock Holmes, HG Well, etc.

Unfortunatly for my podcast listening I'm switching to a home working job in the near future, I'm not sure how many of the more educational podcasts I'll be able to listen to and keep working - at the moment whenever I go round a roundabout I have to rewind some of them to catch up the 30 seconds where I was concentrating on something else!

+1 Football Ramble is superb. Great chemistry between the hosts - I've been in stitches at some of the Kevin Keegan anecdotes hehe

Crime in Sport.
A couple of American comedians (which would normally mean I wouldnt even consider it) discuss the criminal endeavours of mainly USA sports participants. The Joey Barton one is amusing and there's a few more British ones.
They also do one called Small Town Murder which again is good. Both are very well researched.
